"Eating Raoul". The plot: married couple in a platonic relationship because they do not enjoy sex end up inadvertantly at a Swinger's party where both feel assaulted. They proceed to lure a succession of swingers to their deaths. They enlist the help of the handsome Raoul, who has the hots for the wife, as it turns out, in order to dispose of the bodies. His lust ends up his undoing too. Also there is a lot of over the top weird role playing, Minnie Mouse is the sexual turn-on for someone, and... oh, yeah, cannibalism.
I mean, what's not to like?
"Огни городских окраин" и "Я нанял себе убийцу" Аки Каурисмяки. Эти фильмы я смотрела в разное время при разных обстоятельствах, но всякий раз в них было что-то полностью соответствующее моему состоянию, мировоззрению... Они очень хорошо совпадают с моими собственными убеждениями и мировосприятием, а потому очень "цепляют за живое"!....
I collect books. I love reading and I remember the first set of books I got were encyclopedias for different animals, places and seas. I fell in love, I was 9 yrs old and now I have so many books and I can start my own library.
Goodbye Lenin.A very touching and funny stories about a boy who tries to keep the changes in East-Germany in 1989 a secret from his mother because his mother is ill and would die of shock if she would be aware of the changes. It has a very sweet and surprising end but I'm not gonna tell you how it ends go see the movie for yourself if you get the chance.
I don't really find the idea repelling, no, but I'm not sure I'd be any good at it.
I'm prone to fits of being messy, my room can attest to that, and girls go through crazy amounts of effort just getting ready in the morning. There's all the makeup, the clothes matching, the hair styling, SO much involved!
And hey, I totally respect them for that, the female gender is a very determined and impressive bunch of people; they can wear glittery eyeshadow and kick my ass in most cases, you HAVE to respect that.
Plus female intuition? I envy it.
It's a good day if I shower, brush my hair and shave, and then get a t-shirt and a pair of pants on, seriously; that's about as extensive as my morning efforts ever get unless I'm planning to do something important that day.
Intuition? I'm doing awesome if I can walk and talk at the same time and not get lost trying to decide where I'm going; I do not have the amazing female Just Know Things powers.
I do also sort of envy some of the stuff girls have though, clothes and all of that; I mean, there's some really awesome clothes that are very much made for the female gender.
I probably have as many bracelets/arm warmers/misc. accessory junk as most girls though, I can admit that.
Don't think I've ever really just wanted to be a girl, but I don't think it would be bad being one either; anymore there's just not much of anything that I look at being able to do myself and think it's a gender thing. I'm entirely certain most everything guys can do girls can too, so it's a blurry line.
But there are things that girls can do that boys can't, or boys can but they get judged for or looked at oddly about, eh. I guess it's harder for girls though, since they have to work harder since some people still have that whole 'a girl isn't as good as a guy' idea about a lot of stuff and that's lame.
I probably have it easier as a guy. But I'm also probably better suited to being a guy, I'd make one clumsy, weird girl. Haha.

I don't know if it's a 'cult' film, but Beneath the Surface is my absolute FAVORITE low budget, fucking amazing movie. They shot it on like ... ten dollars, mostly unknown faces. I haven't seen the two male actors do anything else and the only reason Dominique is still public is cause she's married to Cam Gigandet and birthed his kid. But omfg it's the BEST movie!!
True Blood. I'm sorry, the script sucks most of the time, the acting sucks most of the time, but something about that show is addictive! And it isn't just the regularity of lovely naked bodies, but that doesn't hurt either.
Well, we're still on schedule for the 2012 terminus of this dominion...
I have a particular plan for that day. At some point the prior night I will sit down with my kids and tell them that they are loved and that nothing can ever alter my caring for them, that I have been privileged to have known them and that they are two for the best people that have ever lived, and then I will tell each of them some of the things that individually make them great people. If the world fails to end on Dec 21, 2012 at 4:21 PM, then nothing lost; they will know exactly that they have a dad who loves them above all others and that that has always been the case and always will be.
I'd say Kuroshitsuji and Hetalia, since those are indeed the mainstream anime that will most likely get you looked at funny in nerd circles, but I actually have no shame, so w/e w/e, I'll watch what I want.
"Сломанные цветы" Джима Джармуша. Он смешной и грустный одновременно. Он о любви, о поиске счастья, о детях. И Билл Мюррей там совсем необычный, меланхоличный такой -непривычно его видеть в таком амплуа, но оттого не менее интересно.
Actually, no. I am such a fangirl, and I fangirl about everything, all the shows I watch, all the books I read, all the music I like--I'm pretty sure it annoys the heck out of my non-fandom friends, so I come here to rant to you all wonderful people. :)
Where to begin? So very many contenders...
Well, I would have to say one that does not get enough attention (as I am one of the perhaps 1000 people to have seen it) would be Sol Tyron's "The Living Wake". Absolutely brilliant writing there and though I may be the one member of this lonley cult, I covet my position.
K. Roth Binew: Father, what is the key to a good life?
Lampert Binew: Oh, K. Roth, don't worry your little head, someday I'll explain it to you in a brief but powerful monologue.
LOL Nope, Love all my shows. CSI (all 3 of them) NCIS, White Collar, Hawaii 50, Bones, The Closer, Covert Affairs, all good shows. I write fan fiction so these are my inspiration and my muse.
Well, since no one will find out... Cleopatra 2525. The screaming never ends or stops making me want to reach through the tv to slap the main character, but I love the jester like villain and of course the girl power (again, minus Cleo). It's shameful, but I even own the dvd set. Actually, not that I'd call all of them dreadfully bad, make that any of those cheasy late 90s/early 2000 sci-fi or fantasy not quite family not quite adult, no blood but lots of skin weekend shows I never quite grew out of loving. At first I was going to say Xena because people around me don't know how in love with that show I am, but no, that show is awesome. Hm, I guess I do have to add Port Charles, though. I forgot about that soap. Compared to other American daytime shows it was pretty good, but it was still a crazy over the top soap with comas, cheesy romance, constant backstabbing, the occasional twin, and a vampire rockstar. I'm still addicted, but none of my friends or family will ever hear about that one and how I still watch it on YT and would buy it in a second if they ever released official dvds.
That 70s show, Full House, Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch... most of the sitcoms that were really popular in the 90s. Then there's Xena Warrior Princess and cartoons that were popular in the 80s and 90s as well.
Of course my favorite show of all time is Married... with Children. that never gets old. Long live Al Bundy.
I'm not sure where to draw the line between a "cult" film and a film just a lot of people didn't see. My favorite rarely seen movie is "Donnie Darko," because it mixes philosophy, science fiction, family drama, personal angst, and romance with a dash of satire all done to a soundtrack by my two favorite 80s rock groups. It's also "Harvey" (a light-hearted fantasy staring Jimmy Stewart) done as dark SF/Horror.
But the two cult films I remember enjoying in high school were "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", which has probably been seen by more people than "Donnie Darko" but attains cult status by the fanatical following of people who watch it every weekend at theaters so they can have a little party showing, and "Heavy Metal." I have very fond memories of seeing "RHPS" every weekend my senior year of high school, hanging out with the gang. I think only watched the whole thing three times; the rest of the time I was socializing. I had my first kiss there, too.
I have more mixed feelings about "Heavy Metal." The first couple of times I saw it, I went "WOW" because it was a lot more creative than any cartoon I'd seen before (I'd never seen Japanese cartoons and this was before Pixar or Dreamworks were even companies) but I watched it ten years later and found the sexism (of the sexually immature style) embarressing.
In fact, I never watch television any more. I gave it up, a number of years ago. We do occasionally watch tv programs from DVD or other sources. I suppose that the worst to admit would be AMC's The Walking Dead. I am not much of a zombie fan but Season 1 of this series was fantastic!
Desperate Housewives. I'm definitely not part of the targeted demographic. But older women are so sexy to me! I'm in a grand state of lust over Marcia Cross (aka Bree).
Other than that, I tend to stay away from "trash" TV.
I freely admit to watching Ghost Adventures (on Netflix, so I'm who knows how many seasons behind). Those guys crack me up.
um...(::shifty eyes::) ...er....Bridezillas. (hangs head while you laugh) But Terry watches Jersey Shore and that's even worse.
At work we have names for customers that come in all the time, they range from Stinky Lynda to The Mighty Dog Guy, to the Geriatric JWOWW to the Momma's Boy lol. We have a ton of nicknames for customers, but the only person who knows about their nickname is the Mighty Dog Guy because he's a pretty cool. :p
So answering the question on the LJ main page. It's funny, it's not a song, it's a band. Plain White T's. Just after the shit hit the fan with N, "Hey There Delilah" got big. A song saying how much distance sucks but he's sure they can make it work out. After the distance thing killing us for so long. Stupid song.
Then L put "1,2,3,4" on a thing for me, and it really reminds me of her. And we all know how that ended up.
So whenever I hear Plain White T's, I usually want to punch something.
I really had to think, but I came up with nada, as I am very open and unashamed of my Real Housewives love. The closest example I can come up with was when I was into Veronica Mars for a short while - I had a few people WTF-ing me over that for some odd reason, but that was back when it was on UPN and ~nobody~ watched it.
I wish I could still SAY, "We don't do TV", but we've pretty much just become Internet-TV junkies. Mr Wonderful watches every documentary on Netflix. Los kiddos are getting an episode of The Waltons today.
As for me, some of my friends would be shocked to discover I watched every episode of "Doll House" and "Heroes" a couple of years ago. (Elisha Disku is an amazing actress, and Josh Whedon is a great storyteller.) Some of my friends would frown if they knew I've watched almost every episode of "Bones". (I wish I had missed the overly-pushed Angela-and-girlfriends subplots. IMO, that was just political agenda, not plot or character development.)
Other friends would say my taste for Bollywood Musicals and Akira Kurosawa works are too esoteric; some would say that the old Three Stooges, Charlie Chan, and Dick van Dyke episodes must be boring because they aren't in color.
Obviously I have to hide my enjoyment of "Lie to Me" and "Human Target" from the executives at Fox, since they decided those shows would not be picked up for another season. In favor of more cartoons. Yeah, bitter this morning even before the coffee. I'm becoming my dad.
I'm lucky on this one. The only TV shows I own on DVD are The Prisoner (old and new), Black Adder, Red Dwarf, Coupling, Maxx Headroom, Buck Rodgers, Battlestar Galactica (the real one), and Get Smart.
I don't watch the second season of Buck Rodgers, so I have nothing to be ashamed of.
It's not bad but it certainly isn't a show that I should be supporting. xDD
I watch Swamp People. I think Swamp People is really cool. I started watching with the episode where Willie got hit in the arm and face by shrapnel and was hooked (No strange alligator hunting pun intended...). It's worse than that small stint I had when I would marathon Deadliest Catch.
And I don't know if I'll have to be embarrassed about yet, but there's also The Playboy Club that'll be coming on NBC this fall which I am ridiculously excited for. And Neverland on Syfy, and Grimm on NBC.... And So You Think You Can Dance started last night, so I've got a whole season of movement inspiration coming that will hopefully last me all summer. Ahhhh, I love TV. Love it, love it, love it. I'm going to be so sedentary this summer, only downside.
Avatar! Its awesome, and the only film I like that I'd call "cultish". Do you realize there are Navi sites where 'kids' speak the artifical lingo?
However, I DO like westerns, other sci/fi-fantasy; and even enjoy The Notebook & Letters to Juliet.
I don't think it's "dreadful" but I don't generally admit that I rather enjoy watching Curious George on PBS. I'll even admit that I know it comes on at 2pm and I've watched it when the kids aren't home.
I've succumbed to the Dark-side. Until recently I really couldn't bring myself to watch reality TV, however I must admit an strange attraction to The Voice. I haven't been watching it live because until this week, it came on after I toddled off to bed, but thank god for on demand. lol
And for those who care (and even if you don't lol) I am so rooting for nearly everyone on Cee Lo Green's team. IMO he got the cream of the crop, especially that lil gal who rocked out with Adelle's Rolling in The Deep during the auditions. I can finally understand the appeal of Idol, although I still wouldn't watch that show, too much drama and those early rounds which many find so amusing are just not my cuppa. At least everyone on the Voice either has some real talent, some are just awesome.
Yeah, I need therapy.
Phineas & Ferb.............actually its a great show.
But I have been known to tape episodes and watch them back to back.
But as I am 59 years old people might think that I am crazy if they knew I watched it.
I love it.
"Curse you........... Perry the Platypus"
"the entire Tri State areaaaaaaaaa"
"oh there you are Perry"
Actually I only watch it cos Phineas mom is........the hottest cartoon woman ........since Betty Rubble.
Is it wrong to find a cartoon woman..........sexy?
Rocky Horror Picture Show! I saw it when I was 15 years old and it just brigs back those teen years for me. It was so out there and in your face about sexuality and fidelity. I still love the Time Warp and Sweet Transvestite!
I don't watch any dreadfully bad TV shows, but I did watch some of "Charmed" a few days ago. I didn't find that show to my taste. That show is a bit difficult to understand.
Umm.... well, that is kinda hard to answer. As I am not ashamed of any show or movie I watch. And Live Journal is all fandom friends of some sort or the other. No family (that's Facebook). So we all have some odd fannish thing.
I guess the closest thing might be "1,000 Ways To Die" on Spike. But that's not bad.
I unironically enjoy Xena: Warrior Princess. It is awesome. But that is not a dreadfully bad show.
I don't think there's anything I watch that I am all that ashamed of.
I would get all my baby and husband and go to feild in the middle of nowhere plan a beatuful pic nic and cuddle all together into the night untill it was finished ^^
Pretty much anything that's Anime I guess because it is unconventional to a typical British resident who sticks to his/her culture.
I get into shows that nobody ever really watches or even knows about and it might be bad to them. We're talking Asian dramas mostly. However for British TV while everyone is off watching Big Brother or The X Factor I'm watching dance shows such as So You Think You Can Dance (which is not really being accepted here imo) or Dancing With The Stars US. Strictly Come Dancing I'd continuously watch if the lineup is interesting enough.
I think I've become slightly addicted to HOUSEWIVES OF NYC. None of the other HOUEWIVES shows appeal to me at all, but I've grown curious about how these women are evolving with each other.
Midsomer Murders, Diagnosis: Murder. Any crap cosy Sunday afternoon detective rubbish really. I do draw the line at Murder, She Wrote. You have to have some standards.
I don't count Columbo as bad telly. No matter what my mum says.
All in my web is honest fact I know, all is free for all to see in my web-site at: http://www.dennisinthereality.nu/ OK
Where do I start?
I finally pretty much gave up on Sanctuary this season. I've been following Stargate: Universe to the bitter end. I stayed with Earth: Final Conflict until the local affiliates started moving it and I misplaced it.
I've started watching Life on Mars on Netflix.
And while, in my current group of friends, I've got lots of company, True Blood.
Private Practice. *hangs head in shame* I'm honestly not sure why I watch this show, except maybe because I love to laugh at the absurd amounts of illogical drama.
OK, obviously I'm not too concerned about friends knowing this, but I used to be an avid watcher of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I know they're famous for being famous, etc., etc., but those sisters are hot and I love them. So there! lol
Oh, Real Housewives. Like all of them. That is my TOTAL guilty pleasure.
I don't know why I watch it. I really don't...but those ladies are just entertaining like a train-wreck.
Also, X-Files, Buffy, as awesome as they are...I don't really admit to people I watch them.
Or Glee, as it's kind of become cool to hate on Glee.
I occaisionally get into some of the reality shows. For example, this season I watched "American Idol" and "America's Next Top Model". Usually I skip "American Idol", but both my bf and I got into watching it this season, and would critique the singers together, which was fun. Of course, the guy I hated most wound up winning.
I always try to catch "Project Runway", another one my bf and I used to discuss. Last year I was pretty embarrassed to find myself watching "The Hills", which I actually consider very bad television, but I got sucked in somehow. It was so dumb, yet I was compelled to watch.
I never watch stuff like "The Bachelor", though. YUCK. Way back when I did watch the first season of "Temptation Island", and the very first "Survivor", though subsequent seasons held no interest for me.
Was also into "Lost" for awhile, and BTVS during the latter seasons.
