How do you celebrate Independence Day in your country?

The closest you can expect from me is just a "Happy 4th of July!" message on the web. See, we Irish don't celebrate things like Independence Day for the same reason we don't celebrate the likes of St. George's Day, Canada Day, Bastille Day, etc. is because those days are celebrated in other countries and not the other way round. Just because everyone celebrates St. Patrick's Day doesn't mean we aren't going to be observing much foreign holidays in a similar fashion.

I would have thought that that with so many Russians on LJ, that they'd start asking Russia-related questions

We don't. The closest thing - which is not really close at all - would be the fifth of May, where the German troops surrendered during World War Two - and I don't really know anyone who celebrate that ... it's kind of boring, actually. The lack of celebration, that is. May one should change that?

If you could go back and change one event in your life (or un-say one thing you wish you'd never said), what would you choose, and why?

I would un-say "I'm talking to Spencer". That one completely casual statement was my boyfriend's (now ex) last straw. And he ended it. Sure, we'd been arguing lately and being 11 hours apart just recently didn't help at all. Me and this guy Spencer have a past, and my boyfriend (& the rest of my school) found out about it. He was not happy. I understood that he didn't want me to talk to him when we were still at the same school and after everyone found out, cause I cheated on my last 2 boyfriends and every other guy I've talked to in the past 2 years with him. So I backed off. But me and Spencer became really close and he's the best friend I have and he gets me and understands me more than anyone else I know. Soooo as time went on we started talking again, but I never dreamed of cheating on my boyfriend. I was in love with him, I still am. But he got all pissy and upset and accused me of sending naked pictures. He then took this as an opportunity to tell me I do nothing for him anymore, I'm boring him, and I am now lame. Also, my love was just randomly wore off after 11 months. Thank you so much, asshole.  I would un-say that, because I think maybe we could've worked out our issues and made it one year.

How do you celebrate Independence Day in your country?

Setting off fireworks! Back in Houston I would go to some friends party and get wasted and have to sneak into my house. Now that I live in the country I spent this Fourth of July with my best friend (though we have only known each other for a little over a year) We sat around the camp fire her father made and shot off fireworks. I never expected to love living the life of a country girl again. Who cares about the damn city life where you can be like one of the guys and they treat you equal. That right there bro (my friend) is the meaning of the Fourth of July to me.

I regret not agreeing when I was asked to move to Ohio, but I was entirely too absorbed in my own goals at that point and couldn't see how that choice couldn't wait a few years while I was busy trying to hunt down some way to separate myself from life.
While I still can't blame myself since I don't agree even with the most determined help that a person with no desire to continue life can be convinced otherwise by anyone but themselves, I still feel a sense of doubt over it all.

I've mostly moved on, I think, but I likely never fully will.

Along those lines, lately, after spending what amounts to too many hours in the company of the younger, confusing of my 'kin' I'm less and less certain about this city.
The other side of the coin being that I have no idea where to go, nor would I feel very well suited to living anywhere else now that I've learned the pace of the city.
There's too much to hold my interest here, the entire city is practically abundant in chances to glimpse the darker nature of humanity; that might really be too much to just give up.

Disconnected, I've been feeling it lately; mildly worn down and ill.
The ill part is the most concerning, as I don't get sick, it must be some sort of fatigue from stressing myself the past few nights wandering around the city trying to dig up information about various things.

Have you ever forgotten to do something really important? What was it?

I have forgotten things so often that I don't even remember what I forgot. The worst could be that I often forgot what did about 5 or 10 minutes earlier, I also forget whether I have locked the door when I'm going out or not, and usually have to make a detour back home just to check it.

If you were given the opportunity to spend two weeks in any country in the world free of charge, which country would you choose, and why?

I think I rather spent my life for awhile to Japan because I want to feel how do Japanese People live.
To experience the culture and tradition ways, To know something rumor related - so I dont left out and find something will definitely change my life just for once. To wear the Japanese street fashion like In Shibuya, watching and experience J-rock or Visual Kei. to see the beautiful places around for years. I will be so happy if someday it will happened for awhile.

What is something you would never want to change about yourself?

why would you wanna change anything, i always used to get the question "if you were to go back into time and change on thing what would it be". Answer "nothing" why because if i were to change anything that i've been through because i didnt like what happened at the time i wouldnt be who i am today! I wouldnt have learned from my mistakes and thats something i would take any day is mistakes, i like making mistakes sometimes....it opens me up to a whole new world and next time i go to make that same mistake i can look and think if i want to proceed in that mistake and most of the time its no! But changing something about you kinda deletes the personality you are destined to have!

How do you celebrate Independence Day in your country?

What tune do you regularly find yourself humming or singing in the shower?

Usually it's a tune from Rigoletto.

I had forgotten the movie title of the movie ever since seeing it at my babysitter's house as a child. I only recently re-discovered the title via google and yahoo answers.
I still can't see it though as Netflix has it on dvd only. ):

But youtube has a lot of the songs: (:3)

I feel silly as to what this implies about my trying to sing like this in the shower, but yeah. It's something that's stuck with me since childhood, so, it is what it is. Loll.

I tend to find myself humming or singing whatever song is in my head.
Lately it's been Ken's theme song from Street Fighter, a while ago it was f(x)'s new song "Hot Summer".
Then before that it was Black Eyes's song in the Street Fighter x Tekken cinematic video, "Honest Eyes".
Shit is so god. :3

This is the stupidest WB question for a long time. I love how it's trying to be inclusive by adding "...in your country?" Why not just ask people IF they celebrate the fourth of July or a similar holiday?
I celebrate Independence Day by thinking "Hey, you're your own problem now!" like the USA were an emancipated problem child :P

It's interesting that I even have one! I tend to sing "Meant to Live", by Switchfoot in the shower. It's the most common one, anyway. I also tend to sing COUNTDOWN by Hyde. Lol, my showers are like my "safe thinking time", so they always take forever. Usually, many songs are sung. I even try to improvise new stuff sometimes!

What tune do you regularly find yourself humming or singing in the shower?

For some unknown reason it is always songs by the Eagles. Lately it's been "Take it to the Limit", but also "Desperado" and, of course, "Take it Easy", although I do change the lyrics to "I've got seven men on my mind" instead of women. And when I sing in the shower Bubba Kit comes running to jump up between the curtain and the liner. I'm not sure if he wants to listen or if he thinks something terrible is happening in there.

How do you celebrate Independence Day in your country?

Whoops! This is not the question I want to answer. Nevertheless, Independence day in a country like India has lost the patriotic fervor that one normally associates with such an event. For a majority of people, it's nothing more than a public holiday, and most look forward to 15th August as only another holiday on the calendar. It's hard for me to fathom out the exact reasons for this apathy but somewhere our fast-paced life is to be blamed for this.

I dare not sing too much in the shower as it might set off my cats and the neighbourhood cats yowling in chorus.

Still if I have a song in my head bits tend to slip out in the shower often just as a refrain or humming along. Currently Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' is top of the earworm hit pararde.

How do you celebrate Independence Day in your country?

In November so it's cold and crispy and all the parades that we have are military ones and quite somber.  Lots of Big Important people doing Big Important Talks on TV using Big Important Words like Tradition, Patriotism and Whatnot. There's also the flower laying on the grave of unknown soldier in Warsaw. For most it's a good day off to have, but in official channels it's rather melancholic.

Personally I blame the November weather. Oh, yeah and peskily unfortunate Polish history as well.

Most of the time when I do hum, it's mostly nonsensical, or has some variation to some piece of classical music. Humming not that common to be me in the shower and I do not recall ever singing in there. I wonder what it is about being in the shower that makes people so vocal?

What tune do you regularly find yourself humming or singing in the shower?

Actually I don't hum or sing in the shower. I have a shower radio which I listen to while I shower.

The radio ensures I don't miss any news or weather reports and it helps me remain conscious of the time passing. When I was younger my parents told me I took LONG showers (7-10 minutes), so I'm always conscious of how long I've been in the shower. I usually check my watch when I get in and out as well.

Writer's Block: Fool me once...

Have you ever been betrayed by a friend or partner who asked for forgiveness? Were you able to forgive and/or forget? What was the result?

I pissed Amy, Kim, Jane, Trevor, Robin, Christina, Laura, Susie, Adam, Jerry, Meggyn, Colette, Kris, Mackenzie, Theresa, Dana, Victoria, Gera, and Manu off way more than they ever did anything to me where they felt even the remote need to ask for forgiveness.

Although once Manu got drunk and wouldn't get out of Gera's car. He was also rude to everyone so I swore I would never speak to him again. Then he called me the next day to apologize. Then he took me to get ice cream the next day. I forgave and forgot. The result was that we patched things up.
