What is your biggest regret? Did you learn from it or does it still plague you?

My biggest regret is that my mother died too young to meet my husband and my daughters. I remember I gave birth to my first born in the same hospital my mother died in. I looked out over the sea because the hospital looks out over the sea, and the first night I was a mother , I wished that my mother could be there to see my baby. We buried my mother in the sea........... Flash to 27 years later, on my first child's graduation from Medical School as we are watching her go up, the singer sings a song from "Man of La Mancha"- "To Dream the Impossible Dream"which was my mother's favorite song- as my first child is graduating to become a doctor. We get her certificate stating she graduated- the graduation date on the certificate, certifying that she is a doctor, is the date of my mother's birthday. Indeed. My mother did see my child.... in some ways.

Жалею о том, что папе в последний раз не сказала "люблю". Отложила "на завтра".
Теперь стараюсь чаще говорить близким приятные и добрые слова. Быть искренней сейчас, на не завтра.

My biggest regret...Hmmmm...

My biggest regret is that I took for granted my relationship with a wonderful woman with whom I could have grown old with and shared many adventures.

....however... had I not taken that woman for granted as the cad I was.. I would not have met my ex wife (Whom I detest) and fathered my wonderful daughter, she who is my entire world.

Being stupid and foolish and above all careless and not keeping my eyes on the road.

I have learnt never to trust myself with the responsibility of any innocent.

And yeah it will plague me throughout my life.

Because it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been so careless.

I don't really regret anything. :) I've got an awesome boyfriend who is loyal, chivalrous, and treats me very well. He's had his eye on me for a long, long while and wonders why I was with my ex for so long. I wondered that for a long time, too... but then I realized, had anything happened differently in my life, I would not have gotten my Tommy.

So, thank you, ex-boyfriend, for leading me to happiness with Tommy.

I hope that you can let go of your hang-ups and find your own happiness with someone else.

Oh where to begin? there are so many regrets.. but I'd have to say the biggest one would be telling someone I thought was my best friend that I was truly madly deeply in love with her... I didn't exactly say truly madly deeply but I told her I was in love with her and I had been for ten years,, and Truly Madly Deeply is a good tune and it says everything I wanted to say to her except the problem is she got all weirded out and eventually disowned me for my feelings. Oh well my life did in fact go on and I am happy with my husband and all is well.

Which book would you want to see turned into a videogame?

It would be rather interesting... seeing a game based upon Laurell K Hamilton's  Anita Blake series....

Any one who has read those books  know that the later chapters of the game might require the game to have a xxx rating applied to the game though..... LOL

Which book would you want to see turned into a videogame?

I like the books about adventures of Erast Fandorin written by Boris Akunin. It would be interesting to play RPG game developed by plots of these books. Fandorin in the fist book is usual man, but continuously he get incredible abilities and at the last book he seems like unvulnerable but still man but not like some mutant. This is interesting scrip for RPG game, how I think.

Day journey:
Today I had 3 classes which are writing, grammar and reading. I think my skills in writing is more better than when I arrive here about 4 months ago. After classes I went home to have a lunch and then to sleep about one hour. I can't be without day napping because night sleep for 5-6 hours is obviously not enough for my normal existence =)) After sleeping I did some exercises and then went to the pool. I swum about 500 meters. I intended to swim 1 kilometer but I was there too late and there was already sunset. So, I decided not to wait when the sun would disappear and to went out from the pool to warm myself under light sunlight. I enjoyed it. After swimming I went back to the dorm to learn further english. About half hour ago I have conversation with Vitalik (the brother of wife of my brother). I suggested him Mac OS because it is really good operation system, but this is individual big topic, so I don't want to talk about it here now. Now I'm going to learn about 1-2 hours and then go to sleep.

I enjoy this video and watch it time to time. Here is me with my lovely Olesya.

That's a great question??  I have many regrets, but the one that bothers me is that I didn't continue on in college and now at 55 years of age, I am finishing where I left off...I want to finish college, there are no obstacles in my way, and I know I can do it!  I will do it!  I will earn my degree and I will be the woman I was meant to be...a woman of integrity...a woman of great promise...a woman who cares about the needs of others...a woman who will succeed because God has afforded me that opportunity...the opportunity to believe in myself...so it will no longer plague me...I am halfway to my goal...I CAN DO IT...

What is your biggest regret? Did you learn from it or does it still plague you?

What’s a bad habit that you really need to quit?

I smoke too much.  A lot too much.  I smoke nearly a pack (20) of cigarettes a day.  I've been down to my lowest for longest in 2005 and quit for a whole day once in 2010, the first time in 10-ish years.

I drink too much.  A little too much.  I deferred a DUI at 19.  I blew a .10 and took classes and attended AA meetings (6 each).  Still drink though.  More than I should.  In the class they said more than 6 in a week was an alcoholic.  My name is (insert your name) and I'm an Alcoholic.  I said "So, French 14-year-olds who eat at home...".  Yep!  That's me!  With a group full of 16 and 17-year old first-timers.

I smoke and drink and I don't exercise like I should.  It's all just so boring...

PS - other topic, I won a game today.  It's a game about different fantasy races and conquest.

What is your biggest regret? Did you learn from it or does it still plague you?

You know, everyone always said I would regret not going to prom. But honestly, I don't regret it at all.

I do have a few regrets, and I am not sure what I regret the most.

I regret not asking out this girl who was in my summer PE class 2-3 years ago. Heck. I don't even remember her name, because I had given her a nickname ("Dandelion").

I regret not trying harder in High School as well. Some of that was being naive, other was being scared. I regret being so scared. I wish I was stronger then, more command, more confident and more assertive.

Right now my biggest regret is losing the best woman in my life. She was my fiancee. I was completely horrible to her, I lied a lot and I was down right mean. I'd say I both learned from it and it does plague me as well. I know better just how fragile relationships can be and what it means to really care abou someone. I learned that I'm also very guarded and I have a problem letting people into my life. It plagues me because I am still in love with her after 10 months separation.

i find it odd that there are people who never had regrets in their lives. i have had my share of regrets but most have affected me alone . one thing that stands out is that which involved another person. there was one time when i said something to someone out of anger. since i could not bring myself to hurt that person physically, i said hurtful words instead to show how angry i really was. it was such a stupid thing to do because words can really tear your soul apart and would definitely leave a scar in your heart. i have apologized to that person but i don't think my "sorry" could ever erase the wounds my hurtful words have inflicted. have i learned from it? who wouldn't? does it still plague me? i have forgiven myself for it.

Which book would you want to see turned into a videogame?

I'm not a videogame person, so instead of having a book turned into a videogame, I'd rather see the rest of the Tales of the City series by Armistead Maupin turned into movies. PBS (I think) did the first three in a miniseries/movie format, but it would be nice to see the remaining five done in some fashion. Even though I originally read the books before seeing them on video, I now can't help but picture Olympia Dukakis as Anna Madrigal or Laura Linney as Mary Ann Singleton when I go back and re-read the books. I just adore these characters so much that I just gush at the thought of getting to spend more time with them!

I have a few that stand out in my mind...but one more then others..I was 10, It was my Grandpas birthday and everyone was over for a family dinner. I got my grandpa a coffee mug with a train on the front, not a thoughtful gift, a quick Grab something so I am not the only one without a gift, gift...while he was opening it, and trying to get my attention, I was busy chattering away with my sister and ignoring him, My grandpa had very bad RA from the time he was 30 years old, at the time I didnt care, I thought it was just part of being a grandpa...Finally after he had it opened and also had my attention for a half a second, he was trying to show me that the handle was big enough to fit his knarled hands...I was such a jerk, that im pretty sure I really hurt his feelings....flash forward 26 years, Im into my 7th year of severe RA, and on a daily basis there is nobody I think about more then him..it still plauges me...I learned from it...funny how a small thing like that can haunt you for the rest of your life..

I have to agree with scr4wl3r  and say that Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan would make an awesome game.  Think about it.  You could start by playing the backstory of Alek, then that of Deryn.  Once the two meet, you could switch back and forth between characters at will.  Or better yet, this story seems tailor-made for a co-op game.

Once the initial story-game was out of the way, you could make more games from the sequels.  Or, even better, create an RPG from the world of Leviathan.  You'd start off choosing between Clanker or Darwinist, let your character grow, work to spread your technology, and eventually take over all of Europe--or at least the bits occupied by the opposing forces.

I would totally play these games.  (Especially the Darwinist side.)

Flame of Justice by me ^_^

Since that's not likely (the second--or third; I've lost count--is less than halfway done, so it's a long way from being published), Metropolis by Thea von Harbou comes to mind. As it was written simultaneously with the film, there are a nice set of visuals for guiding production design. In addition, its plot would probably make more sense as a videogame rather than as a book or a film ^_^;; (And I do like the movie a lot; the book, not so much, though its rather florid descriptions might make for a very surreal game).

Making it into a videogame is a much better idea than remaking the movie, at any rate......

I have seen The Great Gatsby turned into a video game. And it is awesome. But if we're talking more modern novels, I'm thinking Ender's Game.

In other news, I don't want to talk too fast, but I daresay it looks like I might've lost some weight. I could step on the scale to find out for sure, but I'm deathly afraid of that thing. Esspecially after it told me one day that I lost 10 pounds, then the next day I gained 15.

In fact a book I was writing that turned into a script that was submitted to the Nevada film festival was based on a video game.

I have to go with "Blackbird," his best contribution to "The White Album."  It is short, simple, and to the point.  "Take these broken wings, and learn to fly."  I get the feeling that he is talking to me with those lyrics.

I gave up on video games during the "Pong" era, mostly because it bugged me that people would rather play video tennis at the bar than socialize, and they'd get bent out of shape when I put my beer on the screen.

But just for laughs, I'd like to see something like Sebastian Faulk's "Birdsong" or W.E.B. DuBois's "The Souls Of Black Folk" made into video games. I think that would be good for a few laughs.

What is your biggest regret? Did you learn from it or does it still plague you?

When I was 17 and had my first job it was in a town in Sydney called Alexandria, an up n coming suburb in the inner city, close to the CBD, transport, entertainment and a soon to be sought after area. My parents had advised me to buy an apartment in one of the new apartment blocks that were being built. At the time you could get a 2 bedroom apartment for about AUD$150k. They even offered to loan me a deposit and said I could pay it back after the apartment was paid off. They suggested I rent it out and I'd only need to put in a small amount of my own money every week to keep up with the repayments. So what did I do, I said no way, that I'd rather spend my money on clothes and partying. 2 bedroom apartments in that building are now selling for over half a million AUD$. With the way rent prices have gone up over the years, I would have had that apartment paid off years ago. Hindsight is an amazing thing that I just wish we could all be born with. But moral of the story is, listen to your parents, they know more than you think! Have I learned from this regret? Yes definitely.

Normally... books that are turned into video games kindof give me hives. I mean, Dante's Inferno... I couldn't expect any profound interpretation of the poem but holy bananas they could at least come up with a better back story or something. Not all that for love of a silly virgin. Blech.

But! A book I would love to see turned into a video game is Clive Barker's Abarat. It's so gorgeous and so visually oriented that the video game world could just be... absolutely lush, and I think the story would translate pretty well to the screen. So there you have it. Good stuff.
