Writer's Block: Killer Queen

What's your favorite Queen song, and why?

Too Much Love Will Kill You

'I feel like no-one ever told the truth to me, About growing up and what a struggle it would be'

I could always indentify with that lol

That aside, Queen, but also Freddy Mercury solo, has too many great songs to count. It would be hard to choose a favorite, easier to say which songs I don't like. Hell, 'Barcelona' still sends shivers down my back and when 'Hammer to fall' plays, I still get out my air guitar and make an idiot out of myself.

It's a a fucking pity that we'll never hear what else he could have written.

Well it's not Bohemian Rhapsody that's for sure...I say it have to "Best Friend" Its a real sweet and loving song while the other one is just strange and like everyone knows it. The only part I like is the famous middle part:

Then the full song by queen Best Friend I like Better, well just look at how meaningful the lyrics are :)

Somebody To Love. It has all the best elements of a Queen song--theatrics, a campy backup chorus, heartfelt lyrics, a melody that shows off Freddie's range... the only thing missing is a longer guitar solo but the short one that exists is a killer. And it's meaningful.

Second best: Play the Game. For pretty much all the same reasons as Somebody to Love.

Honorable mention: Killer Queen. Fastidious and precise.

We will rock you, Death on two legs, Don't stop me now — как видите, все весьма и весьма предсказуемо, всем знакомо и заслушано до дыр.
Аве олд-роковости, тем не менее.

As many others have said before me, how do you choose just one favourite Queen song? However, if I must, then it has to be '39', from the 'A Night at the Opera' album. It needs careful listening-to, and an understanding of Einsteins theory of time dilation, but it's worth the effort, as it is such a gorgeous song. A close second is 'One Vision.'

It's Te wo toriatte! :)

I first heard it in school, when we sang it in 12th grade!^^
I was immediately hooked. It's half English and half Japanese.
Their manager was Japanese, that's why. ^^
Of course I didn't know any Japanese back then,
so I just sung what was on the sheet, but later on I understood what it meant. Haha~ <3

Would you give up the Internet for $10 million? (this is for the rest of your life.)

Easily. I'll give it up for far less than that.

I used to be on the internet often but I realised too much internet simply isn't healthy, and too many people on it are fake (or damaged) in some way or other. I think the internet can give a person a false sense of reality, as we are more likely to come across 'bad people' online as there is a whole world of them to choose from, and as they are socially dysfunctional they spend a good deal of their time online.

People also have a tenancy to form tight-knit little tribes based on mutual beliefs and on the internet their negative and damaging beliefs easily magnifier as group members praise each other for being so insightful. All this can lead to intolerance of other people’s points of view, and people feeling as though the whole world sucks; which simply isn’t the case. And having a million Facebook friends that are obsessed with posting pictures of themselves and making short posts about their mundane little lives counts for zero, but people get so wrapped up in spending hours online on Facebook doing just that, turning them into narcissistic attention seekers, who actually believe those people on their facebook page our their friends.

The internet can be a force for good (making the world smaller and educating) but it’s all too easy to fall into negative patterns and behaviours with the internet. Like pretty much everything else, it should be used in moderation as far as I’m concerned. Then it can be a great thing!

What’s the most important thing to you (person, animal, anything)?

my kids... Writing about it is a little hard to do. They are babies right now and depend 100 ‰ on me which is awesome, but at the same time they are too young to understand how much they mean to me. If they ever found this I hope they would realize just how special they have made my life and how much I love them. I know when they get older they will probably not like me much, but as all parents are, I will always be right there for them.

What’s one thing that you love to do all by yourself?

Reading a good fiction would probably be my favorite. I read non-fiction out loud with Isaac so we can talk about it. I don't read much fiction but when I do it's definitely best alone, on a cool day with the blanket pulled up around me. It's been too long since I've done that.

I like gardening alone too. It's very calming and peaceful to just be able to focus on the plants and nothing else.

I would have to say the most important thing to me right at this moment is the way my mind works. I have trouble with the smallest things but set me in front of a computer with major problems and I'll give you a pc like new...

give me a sentence to dissect and I'll stare at it like its written in another language...

Hmm. So many to choose from. I've always liked Don't Stop Me Now, love that song, it makes me feel like kicking ass for some reason. Bicycle Race, because it's musically amazing and fun to listen to. And too many other songs to count.

Love Queen. Miss you, Freddie! Happy Birthday.

My family, friends, and my cat Morgan are all equally important to me, but the little person that matters most in my life is Rachel... That little girl makes everything negative melt away from me, replacing it with warm, peaceful energy. Sometimes I even feel happy as I cuddle her.

Last but not least, the most important thing above all is Jesus himself... his spirit helped me get through a lot of drama and crap in life and because of him, I'm still relatively sane. If he never existed, I would have been dead a long time ago, never seeing my mother again...

За 10 миллионов долларов я бы отказался не только от интернета но и ещё от многих других занятий, например перестал бы ходить на работу.
Хотя на сегодняшний день при помощи интернета можно заработать намного больше.

Slightly tricky one. For years and years and years, it was always Radio Ga Ga. Something about it just caught my imagination and my ear.

In the last two or three years, I've found myself a little more drawn to two songs: Who Wants to Live Forever?, which is just hauntingly beautiful; and The Show Must Go On. The latter has a nice opening, but I think I was mostly drawn to it by the Queen III version of the song, which is a 'cover' by the remaining members of Queen with Elton John. So I'm not sure that counts.

So, it's probably a toss-up between Radio Ga Ga and Who Wants to Live Forever?, most likely depending on how depressed I am that day.

I would have to say that my best fiend is one of the most important people in my life. She's the one I talk to when I'm down and that means a lot to me cause I'm a little introverted and have troubles with empathy so it's a miracle she puts up with me. I'd have to saw my computer's really important to me too, it'd be a lie if I left him out of this.

In an almost unheard of occurence I'm going to answer this one:

Queen were responsible for the soundtrack to one of my favourite films... Flash gordon and The Hero is quite simply the best thing on that sound track!
