Writer's Block: Everybody hurts

I have been bullied before. It started with name calling. I was probally in first grade whenever it started. Not many people liked me for some reason. I guess I came off as weird and creepy. I had one friend that was practically my right hand from the time I started kidnergarten untill about sixth grade when we started to drift appart. She was the only one who made me feel human. Her name was Keri. She's my neighbor, and now that we're older, more mature, and attending the same school again- we've started rebuilding our long lost friendship.

I had other people that I ocasionally talked too, but noone that I would had called a bestfriend. It was fifth grade whenever the name calling switched to fighting. An african american girl named Kayden was my worst enemy. She hated my guts and I never really knew why. Her and I class together. I remember how she'd stare at me with those cold eyes. Looking back now, I wonder if those eyes had a secret or two locked behind them. One day after school, myself among many others were going to the bus lot to head home; I remember wearing a frilly pink dress with flowers all over it, some pink heels, finalized with my circular glasses that I hardly ever took off. Minding my own business carying out my day, out of nowhere I feel a random shove at my back. When I turned around and noticed it was Kayden, I began to feel angry. She had told me sorry for shoving me, that it was an accident, I didn't belive her. I smart mouthed something to her, something most likely along the lines of "Sure" or "Yeah, whatever." Either way she didn't appriciate my lip and before I knew it she had slung me into a pole- I remember the way it stung once my back thrust against the metal. Afterwords I just fell to the ground- she began just punching away at the back of my head. Everyone stood around the two of us. They watched. They cheerd. And they laughed.

Our parents were called, and we were driven home from the principle. I remember my parents telling me that I should always defend myself. It wasn't long after that, that I indeed was the one to take matters into my own hands. I went on to sixth grade, got bullied by few, but the real turn around point was when I transferd out of that particular school. I was finally away from all the people that bullied me, name called me, and laughed at me for not being the girl who stood up for herself.

I repeated sixth grade at a charter school; not because I was dumb and failed, but because I had started to get into too much trouble at my other school. The charter school I was being placed in, only allowed a certain number of kids in per grade. There was no room for me in the seventh grade class, even still my mother refused to let me stay in public school.

There was when it started. Have you ever heard of the saying 'If you're bullied, eventually you yourself will become the bully'? That saying is true. So very true, and i'm a prime example to proove it. At that point in my life, I didn't care anymore what people thought of me really. The people that walked the halls with me were no better than I was. None of them knew me, nor knew my story. I took advantage of peoples ignorance. I wanted them all to think I was -that- girl that noone messed with. If someone shot me a glance I didn't like, I was the first to push them into some lockers. By God if you ran your mouth to me, I'd get in your face and i'd tell you the way it was. There was onyl a handful of people at that school I didn't mess with in the least. Abigail Snook and Madison St' Clair were a few of them. Girls that I admired. At that school a strict three strikes or you're out bullying policy was enforced. I got to three strikes before my first year was over. After you get three strikes, you have to have a meeting with the school board, plead your case, then ask for permission to stay. At the time, I was the only one in the history of that school who had went to the school board and had permission to continue attending. I had the school principle and the school counsoler on my behalf; they knew the type of bullying history I had and after everything, still had enough faith in me to belive I'd suceed.

Now i'm currently a junior in high school. I don't feel like an outcast must anymore, yet I still have that bully lying below the surface. Now I really do have that title where many people say 'she's not one of those girls to mess with'. Because of my boyfriend, I have lots of friends who are guys. They all understand and don't really complain whenever I punch them as a result of being angry. Being a bully isn't a good thing. Standing up for yourself isn't a bad thing. This is one of those situations where you'd have to find the balance within' yourself. I still struggle, and it all started with name calling. I manage better now than ever- and I can deal with the little things like dirty looks and even rumors; but in a way, I still feel as if I didn't handle the entire situation as maturely as I wanted. Despite the things I had to do just to get by.

Have you or a friend ever been bullied? How did you get through it?

Ohno, adorable

What is the strangest thing in your closet?
THe strangest thing in my closet isn't the clothes, but the large gambling table my mom shoved in their while i was away at school.  Apparantly the cats scratch it when its left on the floor under the pool table so into the closet it went.

As for clothes, well, the girlscout uniform and a few of those easter dresses are among the things I would like to forget.

If you could write the next Star Wars movie, what story would you tell? It could be anything: a sequel, prequel, or anything in-between. Describe your adventure in 300 words or less. Our favorite story will receive a Star Wars saga Blu-ray gift pack! [Contest Details]

This is the film I would make, set between Episode III and Episode IV:

Under the guidance of the Emperor, Darth Vader – once Anakin Skywalker – is learning what it is to be a Sith Lord. The peace of the new Empire is far from stable and many former Confederation star systems have yet to accept Palpatine’s rule. The political climate is fraught as many in the Imperial Senate struggle to reconcile themselves with the new system of government, Bail Organa among them.

Meanwhile, two Jedi padawans – their Masters slain in the Jedi Purge – can rely on no one but themselves in a galaxy now hostile to them – even the gambler who gives them passage to the Core, Calrissian, is more than he seems. And, despite the speed of Calrissian’s ship, a bounty-hunter called Fett is hot on their tracks, for they have something the galaxy would kill for: evidence Palpatine himself was responsible for the Clone Wars.

Queen Breha and her husband are walking the fine line between nurturing a fledgling Alliance against the Emperor and keeping the true identity of their daughter secret. Can they afford to help the young Jedi – especially when everything is on the line? And what will happen when Darth Vader, supervising the installation of Alderaan’s new governor – Wilhuff Tarkin – realises that all is not as it seems? The Galaxy has changed and nothing is certain. From the backstreets of Alderaan, to the wasted surface of Nemoidia, to the scarlet corridors of the Imperial Senate, the air is thick with danger and no one is safe…

I'm definitely interested in the mind thoughts of certain characters. Most especially the one of Qui-Gon Jinn as he was the one to be literally One with the Force enough to continue teaching beyond the living. Different turning points in the saga from a character's point of view. With that one pinnacle event or moment, his or her life will change. Starting from Episode I to Episode VI.

The thoughts of Shmi Skywalker when she decided to let Anakin go. Of Obi-Wan Kenobi as he watched his Master fall making his blind promise to train Ani. Of Palpatine while Ani was still in training; already scheming of his revenge on the Jedi. Of Padme when she finds out she was pregnant. Of Mace Windu as he flew to Palpatine's tower to confront him to step down as Chancellor. Of Anakin as he lay on the scorching Mustafar terrain suffering; as he lay on the table becoming more machine than man. Of Yoda on his first day in exile. Of Owen Lars as he watched Luke grow wondering kind of man he would become. Of Luke when he returned to his ruined home to see he'd lost his family. Of Han Solo when he first left the Rebellion & why he came back to help. Of Leia sitting in the Millennium Falcon control room deciding the progress of the Rebels & sorting her feelings for Han. Of Luke during his Jedi training with Yoda. Of Lando as he made his negotiations with Darth Vader "for the good" of Sky City. Of Emperor Palpatine waiting for Luke to be brought to him (more scheming anyone?) Of Darth Vader watching his son dying & his ultimate choice to save him. Lastly of Luke standing at his father's pyre determining the future of the Jedi.

Are you watching the Emmys tonight?

Yes, and it will be an extremely hot load of bullshit if Amy Poehler does not win. Like, I want Parks and Rec to win best comedy so badly, but I'll understand if Modern Family wins (which it more than likely will) because it's a hilarious comedy. Laura Linney is not a comedy actress. She is a dramedy actress, and the fact that she (and Edie Falco) are even in the same category as Amy Poehler is just ridiculous. She and Edie Falco are brilliant in their roles and absolutely deserving of awards, just not Best Actress in a Comedy. I really want to believe that the award will be given to the actress who best fits the name of the category, but I'm doubtful. Dear Emmy voters, please do the right thing!

It's possible I'm too invested in these types of things...

I was living in Dothan,Alabama.

While driving to work I was listening to the radio, and it was announced that a plane had hit one of the towers. At first I thought it was some kind of joke, but as I changed stations, I heard the same thing being said.

I finally got to work and I booted up my computer and immediately logged onto Yahoo, and there it was...the photos made me so sad and scared. I have family in Brooklyn, and some of them work in Manhattan, and I was just so terrified for them. I couldn't get to call any of them because the phone lines were super jammed. In the days that followed I worried about not only my own family, but all the families who lost a loved one that day.

The company I worked for wanted to do something,so a portion of our pet and vet sales went toward providing boots for the dogs being used in the rescue.

Well, funny you should ask.....

A stripey satin straight-jacket, quite a lot of latex, military uniforms (of may services and ranks), copious leather and PVC outfits, a fur red hot chilli pepper, several zentais, a handful of superhero costumes, faux fur, real fur, a space cadet outfit, dresses that don't fit either of us, many, many hats, caveman, real gladiator armour and the obligatory German pikel helmet, some 70s stuff, a catsuit Donna made specially for boo, with matching fur boa and numerous other random buys!

Writer's Block: Can't we all just get along?

What is one way to stop or prevent bullying?
I don't know how to react in this situation, since I never really experienced bullying in school. But if that were the case back then, what I can do is fight for what I think is right. Ask for the adult's help on how to stop bullying me, or consult them to something that will help me regain my status. We shouldn't let other people ruin our lives that's why if given the odds fight back and give all your best to survive. That's what I believe.

No. As my roommate who works in Hollywood's prop industry pointed out...it's all a show where they pat each other on the back whether the job was well done or not. The last time I watched it was mind-bogglingly boring and the clothing the stars wear runs the gamut between being a joke to downright embarrassing to even look at. There are seriously better things to do in the world that lose three hours of my life to watching that rubbish.

Oh hell no. I never watch any award show. Why should I waste time watching a bunch of actors I don't know recieve something for whatever show I never watched and listen to some boring speeches?

Never did get the concept of why these things are televised in the first place. People really have such a big problem with insomnia?

Not unless my brain gets switched for that of someone who (1) gives a damn about any of the shows/actors who are nominated, (2) has even watched any American shows with any regularity whatsoever this past year, and (c... no, 3*) isn't bored silly by award shows, period.

I literally do not watch TV anymore. (There's something I never thought I would say.) The Internet has totally replaced TV for me as a source of amusement. There are things I watch via computer, but even then it's only Doctor Who, plus the Daily Show and Colbert Report when I remember they exist. I know about Hulu and have it bookmarked, but I can't work up enough interest in any shows to want to go looking through it and try them.

Actually, that's not entirely accurate. I do watch TV when I go to my best friend's house. Kind of. Actually what I do is sit there and play games on my phone or do stuff on my laptop while she watches TV. Sounds weird, but you'd have to know us -- we're the type of friends who can just be together without having to entertain each other constantly.

However, maybe someone reading could suggest a show for me to try (an American show, that is**)? My taste is basically things with interesting characters, well-written dialogue, and humor. Scifi/fantasy is a plus, but not required. I might consider "reality" shows if they're not the "let's all live in a house and bitch at each other" type, or the "let's learn to be chefs/wedding cake bakers/models/designers, etc., and bitch at each other" types. Or that one about kid beauty pageants (ugh). BTW, if it's a cable show, it would have to be something that Hulu runs full episodes of, because we don't have cable anymore.

I would seek to do the third chapter of the Ewok spinoff series starring Warwick Davis as Wicket the Ewok. For those who are not familiar with what I'm talking about, there are two Star Wars related films that starred only the Ewoks entitled The Ewok Adventure---Caravan of Courage and The Ewok Adventure---The Battle for Endor.  The third chapter of The Ewok Adventure  will also star Aubree Miller as Cindel (Who may or may not be a Jedi Knight).  However, this one will feature Jar Jar Binks played by Ahmed Best and Boss Nass played by Brian Blessed and the rest of the Gungan Army crash land on Endor and join forces with Wicket the Ewok, the entire Ewok Army and Cindel.  Of course, there needs to be an enemy to fight.  In this case, Tom Green would show up as a Sith Lord warrior obsessed with destroying both the Ewok Army and the Gungan Army because he has really deeply rooted feuding anger towards both the Ewoks and the Gungan race.  The reason why needs to be discovered in order for Tom Green performing as a Sith Lord could be defeated.  Naturally, this would be a television movie.  If this is successful, the merger of the Ewoks and the Gungans could become a multi-season television show.

Where were you?

I'm aware this is late, thank you. d; But I figure I'll post it anyways.  For the record this a copy-paste of the response I gave aiden_raccoon when he asked me about it:

September 11th means a lot to me because I completed U.S. Air Force Basic Training on September 7th, 2001--one of the last flights to do so before 9/11.  I never actually saw the planes strike the towers because I and a bunch of other new airmen were being briefed by the General of the base we were at (Keesler AFB, Mississippi); we only found out about it after someone whispered in the general's ears and he told us.  And with that, everything I had been taught & drilled to do for the past 6 weeks...was no longer valid.

In addition, I spent the weekend after I graduated (7-9 Sept) with my parents and 3rd sister in San Antonio.  My parents were not happy that I went into the Air Force for fear I would be putting my life in danger.  I'm certain the events of 9/11 didn't help with that.

No. I refuse to pay for cable when I already pay for the internet. The winners will all be announced on free news sites. Plus, I've been reading about the way the celebs have been behaving for the past few days with all the excess and swag and I'm pretty disgusted. Yes, I know they do it every year but with the severity of our national economy and one out of six Americans living in poverty, it's kind of insulting for them to do it now.
