Writer's Block: Riddle me this

What is something that just doesn't make sense to you?

The vast majoriy of television and movies. It's not that simply that the things out there suck, but that they are so popular. I'm hardrpessed to name an original movie that has come out this year. Everything I've seen was already a movie once, was an 80's TV show, or was a comic book. I don't watch any of those things. The original movie was fine. If the creators and producers of the television show thought they could spin the idea into a movie (the more profitable medium) as opposed to a TV series, don't you think they would do it? And as for comic book to movie deals the people who do those need to be arrested for rape.

Writer's Block: Riddle me this

What is something that just doesn't make sense to you?

How bad people can live good lives, and to a lesser extent why bad stuff happens to good people.

I understand that nothings perfect bad shit happens but what I don't understand is why really horrible, horrible people can lead lives that are just as good if not better than people who actually work hard for what they have. For example I don't think serial womanizer should be able to 'settle down' and have a happy family. It doesn't change the fact he was a jack ass or mske things any better with the people he may have hurt. It's simply not fair he gets to be a douchebag and then live happily ever after. Maybe it's some cosmic karma or something of the soul but it is still unjust for this lifetime.

What is something that just doesn't make sense to you?

People who enjoy going to the dentist. More specifically, people who enjoy getting their teeth cleaned and how it feels after.

I hate it. Even with 30mg of valium in my system and getting gassed, I still drew blood on my arms and hands. I hate people poking around in my mouth and it's so fucking painful.

What is something that just doesn't make sense to you?

Why do people go right to turn left (when driving)?

Why do people think that just because they can, they should?

And lastly, but certainly not leastly, leggings. Looks alright on people who wear a long top (ie one that covers their butt) or a skirt. Where I live, it's girls with size 18+ butts who wear them as pants (ie NO COVERAGE). Seriously? What made you think that was a good idea? It doesn't even look good on skinny people like that. Why would it look good on you?

Are you more of an entertainer who makes others laugh? Or do you prefer to be entertained?
Or am I well-balanced in sense of leisure and endeavor?

I actually love making people laugh. Seeing a smile; it's a welcoming feeling when I know that I accomplished that usually with ease. It apparently doesn't take much from me to make others laugh because I happen to have a rather loose control over balancing acts. Such as walking. Or standing.

However, if I don't feel so comfortable--most always in a one-on-one situation, excluding significant others--I'd like to take a back seat on performing and see how well the other person does up on stage with an audience of one. Whether they trip and fall (I just can't help but crack up and hit the 'Replay' button in my mind) or just make a joke, I'll have the time of my life laughing at them. With them. Which ever.

i don't understand war. i mean, i REALLY don't get it. so you fly to another country, stay in a hotel, then wake up and fight on a battlefield? if you don't get killed, is there a "punch out" time? who the fuck thinks of this bullshit? i love how they market it to angst ridden youth. it's like "go fight and die for your country; it's totally hardcore, brah!" very wrong.

How long have you had your best friend?

Am I the only one that feels guilty about having more than one "best friend?" Because I have more than one, and I do definitely feel guilty about it-- I think each of them should have my full and undivided devotion, yet of course they cannot.
And then there's the opposite end of the spectrum. There are those that I call best friends because I've known them for years, and I am still fond of them, but we don't particularly talk or have any reason to call one another best friends; it's almost to the point, really, where it's difficult to call them friends at all rather than acquaintances.
So why do I feel guilty dropping their title? It's awfully silly.

Yet I kind of feel that it works the same way, for a lot of people.
Or maybe it's just me. We're always inclined to think that everyone else acts the way we do, aren't we.

I'm hoping this one is self-explanatory. For the same reason as most people's favorited song lyrics. It holds meaning and is parallel to situations in my own life, ones that I wish I could just detach myself from. Well, it happens.

"Say 'I'
What does that say?

Well. Um, haha, it's just a great reminder of innocence and childhood, and everyone really needs that every once in a while. Check it out, okay?

"This is looking like a contest, of who can act like they care less.
But I liked it better when you were on my side.
Battle's in your hands now,
But I would lay my armor down,

That people don't like or appreciate Jim Morrison and the Doors. So many people have told me they just didn't care much for their music. Even Patti Smith felt contempt for Jim Morrison when she saw him the first time. But now she does a great version of The Crystal Ship.

Uhm, I'd have to say incompetance at hospitals. That seems to be appropriate for what's happening with my mom at the moment. The drs and nurses taking care of her in the ICU are completely golden and rock. I'm talking about the dumbasses that kept sending her home.

Otherwise, I'd have to say I don't understand how someone could abuse another person or animal in any way. And racism and homophobia are things I cannot understand either.

why was I punished for graduating (due to studying hard and passing my exams, which is a terrible crime) by having to leave University, and then charged hideous amounts of money I can't pay and don't get a Government grant for, despite having the same zero income that I got Government grants to do my undergrad degree because of, to come back to Uni, meaning that I have to live in this meaningless half-light of internal exile for the rest of my life?

And if america has it's own measuring system why doesnt it have it's own writing system?

e is the "matter" is in its dimention; there are worlds without form where the matter is light itself created by the mind. There are even higher realms, where the mind exists in itself, not creating anything at all. You see, not everything is that difficult.

There have been times when I was afraid that I've done something wrong, that I dind't work hard enough at it and our friendship was going away. Me going away to uni was a hard time for us, at least it was for me. But, honestly, this is one of the very, very, very ,very few relationships I'm willing to fight for because I've never connected with a person so easily and so quickly before. I have been friends with jumblejayne at least a little over a year to two years. Shitty me can't remember exactly how long we've been friends but I do remember that we met on tumblr,  because of Supernatural and have been best friends since. We haven't even met each other in person yet either but rarely never talk at least once a day. Jayne, I am glad we are friends. You were there when I needed a friend during those times I  never realy had one and still continue to be. I know we argue at times but we easily make up, faster then i've ever made up with certain ex friends. I hope we are friends long past Supernatural's last season and are able to meet one day. I can honestly say that I don't know where i'd be w/out you in my life. I <3 you girl!

My best friend and I met when we were 10 and 11. (I was 10.) She was my first real best friend and then moved away. We lost touch for a few years and then found each other again about 2 years ago now. So, we met in 1989 and it's 2011 now. Soooo.......21 years. She's more than my best friend though. She is my sister.

What? I'm lonely and bitter and sick. A week-long cold is not fun. Although I am considerably less lonely and bitter since the man who is my true love and who may or may not exist did see me a couple of times. Okay, maybe a little bit more bitterness since he was the cause of the aforementioned nearly week-long cold. What? My bestest friend ever who I am still in love with and have not seen in months and whom I believe is avoiding me suddenly visits me and offers to shed his pants and I'm supposed to say no just because he himself has the sniffles?

YES I AM RAMBLING I DONT CARE. I think I shall have a tuna sandwich now.

What doesn't make sense to me is how people against same-sex marriage say "Why do they need to get married if they are happy together already?" Then in the same breath defend how important it is for opposite-sex couples to marry. It doesn't make sense that you can serve with someone in the military for years, the next day find out that person is homosexual, and automaticly treat them differently. I also don't understand how women are more open to being friends and loving gay men for who they are when in reality women should be the angry ones, not men. Gay men are stealing men away from women after all. What does that say about how men and women think?

I've known my best friend since seventh grade. She is probably my better half when in terms of placing the proper judgement or something or even providing the right advice. I do the same for her and it makes me feel like we complete each other. Honestly, without her, I'd probably be more lost in the world than I already am right now. She knows what's best and sets me straight whenever I go astray. :] I'm glad I've known her for almost seven years now, and they have been the best seven years I've cherished with any one.

How long have you had your best friend?
Here's the thing:  I am sitting here writing this at 3:26 AM because I just returned from the hospital where my BFF of 30 years was just readmitted after being alarmed with a feeling the surgery she had on Monday was somehow not healing correctly.
Long story short (and some of you already know about the broken ankle), when the nurse cut open the temporary soft cast, my friend's foot and ankle had blisters the size of quarters, and dried blood at the site of the stitches.  It's most probably infected, a worrisome thing to which the surgeon could only reply " I haven't had an infection in seven years".  Well, you've got one now from the looks of it.
Probably the swelling was just too much, which caused the blisters, which...well, she's back in for the night (wait, it's morning) so we'll see how the day progresses.
I should go to bed, but having managed to stay awake this long, what I seem to really want is a cup of coffee.  I'm going to resist and try to sleep, and this is part of what will put me there I hope. Reading and writing are fairly effective sleep aids.
So, best friends through thick and thin and hospitals and men and you name it.  Yep, here we are.  One of these days we'll write a book.

I've known my best friend since I was eleven years old I believe, so about thirteen years we've known each other now, and somehow we're still friends. It amazes me that we haven't killed each other by now. But when push comes to shove, she's always been there for me through just about everything.

How long have you had your best friend?

Goin on 12 years in February :) Long time to have a crazy person in your life, but I am proud to have her. We've been through a lot together. Both of us being mad at each other, people trying to break our friendship apart, and all kinds of other stuff. I can't imagine life without my best friend. Even if I mad at her for something, I can't stand not talking to her and solving the problem. She's always been able to make me laugh, even in the worst of times. One of her many talents :) She doesn't always look highly on herself, but she seriously should look in a mirror and realize just how great she really is. I can honestly say, if it wasn't for her, I prob wouldn't be alive today. I'm not getting into why here, but it's true. She's smart, funny, fun to be with, a person who truly cares about others (even some that are horrible people) and will try to help anyone that asks for it. If anyone ever tries to say anything bad about her, you can trust that I'd be the first to set them straight. I can't say I'm one to speak my mind all the time when people say things I don't like, but no one says anything bad about her in front of me. We've been friends for well over a decade now, and I am proud to have her in my life :)

Not sure if or how often you read these entries, but Steph, Thank You for being the greatest best friend a person could ever have!!!! :) *Hugs*.

P.S. I hope your pain ends soon. We need to go get that ice cream we been talking about for a while :) Get better soon

How long have you had your best friend?

To my one, my only,
Forever and for always.

It was eleven years ago.
I was going about my regular
first-day-of-school business.

Get on the bus.
Check the schedule twice.
Hunt down the classroom.
Seek familiar faces.
Quietly take a seat.

Then there was you.

When everyone was so set
on keeping their heads down
on the first day of school,
you walked in late
and just didn't seem to care.

I'll admit, I was thrown.

But then you sat by me.
I saw your folder,
and I knew I wanted
to get to know you better.
The day I met you,
my life changed.

You may never know
how often that occurs to me.
But it does. Often.
And every single time,
I can't help but cry
at the thought of never knowing you.

You're closer than family.
You're closer than any boy.
You're the missing piece of my soul
and I don't know what I'd do without you.

How long have you had your best friend?

I have to say I thought I had best friends in high school and those in my family, but truly my best friends are my god-mother, Camille, and my fiance, JR. They literally deal with the thick and thin and actually want me for more than moral support they want to be mine too. I always thank God for them. There are many who I consider dear and true friends that I know understand why I consider Camille and JR to be my best friends, but they know they are special to me too. With the help of Camille and JR I found friendship not a one-sided idea, but a complete thing and that is how those other friends are dear to me because I have learned that through those two, and how I thank God for all the friendships that have truly blessed my life.

How long have you had your best friend?
A couple of months. He's stopped crying and pleading to be released. I think the Stockholm Syndrome may be kicking in. I like this one better than the one I had before. That one refused to eat and then he died and started to smell really bad, and I was afraid people would find out, so I had to cut him up, put the parts in plastic bags and bury them in all sorts of different places. That was really a lot of work.

But I think this one is going to be a good best friend.

Yes, I do believe he will.

15 Years Away

To not be afraid when one looks upon the inside. A simple thing to hide

If not before this current dream, nothing is to confide. String along the simple

thoughts, to those I do not lie, the simple that I will not cry...

A whispering wing and water wear, to those I do contride
I step to stride for stride
          pride to confide
            please just step aside...

How long have you had your best friend?

Missa and I met in first grade, 22 years ago!
She was the girl that all the guys were afraid of because she could beat them up.
I was the chubby girl that she always stood up for.
Really, a match made in heaven!
Now she's married with five kids, and I live across the country...but I go home once a year and we do a four-five hour canoe trip down the river, just us. So much fun to spend time together.

How long have you had your best friend?
I have four people I would call my best friend. Two I met 14 years ago. We live in different places now, but when we are always there for each other no matter what.

My third best friend has been in my life for 8 years. He has been a rock, a pain in my ass and a shoulder to cry on. I don't cry much, but he has seen me do it quite a few times. Sometimes I think he is my soulmate because we fit together so well- too bad he is gay. *le sigh*

I've been friends with my fourth best friend for 7 years. We have that fun relationship. We constantly laugh. If I need to get out because my life is sucking at that day, he'll sit and drink with me, or just make me laugh and get me to do something crazy.

I have great friends. I'm very blessed.

How long have you had your best friend?

When I first arrived at Dalton, I felt like I was a freak of nature. I was a freshmen and the tallest one yet, a tower among smaller buildings. I felt out of place, uncomfortable and my experience of the first week was a bad one. I remember I was sitting alone at lunch when two fellow classmate approached me and introduced themselves as Thad and Wesley. I remember how they sat down at my table and started to talk to me like they hadn't known me for years. Then I was told about the Warblers. It makes me smile today to remember that when the Warblers were introduced to me at that lunch, they took their sits at my table and talked to the tall guy.

As much as my friendships with each of the Warblers are important to me, my friendship with Thad was the strongest. He made sure that first year that I arrived promptly to each of my classes, even at the risk of being late to his own. It was a kind thing to do. In fact, I believe it was Thad himself how gave me the nickname "Gentle Giant" which has followed me throughout my years at Dalton.

Thad even was the one who asked me to try out for the Warblers when he caught me one day singing to myself while doing my homework and beat boxing along to my guilty pleasure movie. He helped open the door to my other friendships which I still treasure. Without Thad, I don't believe I would have become such close friends with Jeffery, Nicholas, Blaine and I'm sure I would have never met the wonderful Kurt Hummel.

He was the first of my classmates that I had a serious talk about my own personal life and how I was scared of being disowned. When he graduated I lost my high school friend but in retrospect, I gained a great friend that's waiting for me beyond the walls of Dalton.

It's been four years now that I've had my best friend by my side. And it's been four years since he introduced me to a group of friends that I'll cherish for years to come: The Warblers. I love you guys!

Gender theory. Definitly.

In France they  decided to teach the gender theory to studients who are 16 years old in biology class.

It's not biology it's philosophy, but if you say that in France, they will say that you are a bastard homophobe, and if you are a girl or a boy it's in your head....

They just conveniently forgot that boys have something called a penis and girls have a vagina....

What is something that just doesn't make sense to you?

List three books that have changed your life:
1.  The Sunflower by Simon Wiesenthal
The main question this book aimed to answer was whether or not forgiving has limits.
2.  The Plague by Albert Camus
This allowed me to ask myself:  will I remain to be an Ivan or will I transcend and become more like Alyosha (I'll cheat: Fyodor Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamasov also changed me)
3.  The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen
Ultimately, we are asked, can we stop thinking that it is us who ultimately loves; instead, look at how we can become better beloveds.

How long have you had your best friend?

I've known my best friend, Sarah, for almost 20 years. Our friendaversary is in November. We've been through some very tough times: the death of my husband, her divorce, the birth of my son and her three children, broken hearts and so much happiness. I wouldn'e trade a minute of our time together. Sarah is what a friend should be, and I never tire of telling her just how much she means to me. We met in high school over a shared cigarette in a northern winter that made my knees shake. Smoking outside, across the street from our school, we talked and laughed and made plans for a party on that weekend. Since then, both quit smoking and she had to quit drinking (lightweight). Now, we share a home in a warmer state and we couldn't be happier. She's on her way to work, right now and I'm getting the kids ready for church. We're a family. Yes, you CAN choose your sister. We are living proof that the family you make is unbreakable. She'll read this, later and be embarrassed, but my world is cleaner for having known her.
