What's worse: a pit of snakes or a pit of spiders?
A pit of spiders. Because I might step on them and dirty my shoes. I actually like snakes. I don't mind sleeping with them. 8D

Anyway, my AVG updated and I had to restart my com and now I come back to see that WHAT I HAVE TO UPGRADE MY ACCOUNT TO GET SCRAPBOOK STORAGE EVEN THOUGH I JUST UPLOADED A PICTURE ONTO MY SCRAPBOOK NOT LIKE 10 MINUTES AGO??

I trust my friends will love me enough to kill me before it even comes to that choice.
But being forced to choose, I'd probably choose the (probably more lethal) snakes.
Now thanks for that image, before I go to sleep.

What's worse: a pit of snakes or a pit of spiders?
I think snakes are cute, so that wouldn't really bother me considering what kind of snakes we're talking.
Spiders could crawl into clothes and scare the fuck out of me in numbers, but they'd be easier to kill if not jump/run away.

Short answer: spiders.

Помню только что, как мы рвали полиэтилены для переработки..Даже не выплатили. Неделю поработали и ушли.. Цех обанкротился вот такая первая работа..

What's worse: a pit of snakes or a pit of spiders?

I actually love snakes. I think they're elegant predators and beautiful example of nature's complexity. They're soft and actually comforting to me. Snake are not slimy.

That's not to say spiders aren't elegant predators in their own right, but they're itchy and downright creepy. Tarantula hairs were used in itching powder back in the day. I've never been bitten by a snake, but I have been bitten several times by spiders. I even got an awful welt and a scar on my arm from one of them.

So, a pit of spiders is much worse than a pit of snakes.

A pit of snakes. I HATE HATE HATE snakes. I have ophidiophobia to the max. I can't even look at pictures of snakes on tv or in books.

Oh look at me updating my LJ. Thanks to tumblr and my crazy busy life I barely come on here anymore ;A;

Assuming neither of them are venomous, pit of spiders is worse. I like snakes, they're cool and my roommate has one so if I think of it like 10 Ramses on my arms instead of just one, it's okay. Unless it's some bonecrushing monster that I have to wrestle which is less cool, but still more appealing than spiders.

omg spiders. At least there's a chance of being able to keep some composer in a pit of snakes. You can try to be bad ass and control them because you read Harry Potter and you just *know* you're a parselmouth. No one stands a chance in a pit of spiders. It would turn even the baddest ass into a screaming weeping scrotum of tears.

Plus you'd end up squishing some spiders and that's just nasty. And their family would try to avenge them by getting in your mouth and other orifices.

Writer's Block: International Skeptics Day

What are you skeptical about? (religion, ghosts, Toddlers and Tiaras, etc.)
I'm skeptical of hard-line skepticism. There are a lot of so-called skeptics who have made a dogma out of being against pretty much everything, to the point where they won't consider ANY idea that hasn't already been made canon in whatever history/science/etc books they feel are their equivalent of a bible. They are at least as bad as the people whose minds are so open that nothing is rejected, and possibly worse.

A pit of spiders. I like snakes. My dad really loves reptiles
What's worse: a pit of snakes or a pit of spiders?
. We've had all kinds of different pets growing up. Mostly snakes. In fact I remember him picking me up from school/bus stop or dropping me off with a snake or 2 wrapped around his arms or wrapped around the bars of his jeep. It was fun.

Writer's Block: Between a rock and a hard place

Pit of spiders all the way. First off, spiders are smaller than snakes therefore there would be more of them in a pit. Secondly, spiders would crawl all over you and get under your clothes and just the creepy-crawly feeling of them being all over me makes me shudder. Lastly, there is the whole spider web thing. I hate the feeling of cobwebs, so I would rather be in a pit of snakes.

Don't really want to answer the question, just say that the subject of this writer's block made me do a double-take as I just finished watching "127 Hours" ... Fun times. It was a great movie, but I know I'm gonna have nightmares tonight lol *shudder* Especially since I asked myself that exact same question during the rock scramble up Old Rag Mountain: What if these rocks move? O.O (tho at least Old Rag Mountain is pretty well-travelled and 9+ people knew where I was going!)

What's worse: a pit of snakes or a pit of spiders?
Neither, a pit of spikes are worse.

Here's my rationale: a pit of snakes or spiders found in the wild are not necessarily dangerous if they're just left alone, however a pit of spikes, as any gamer knows, is always made with ill-intent. Therefore, the pit of spikes is the worst one without any further information.

Where is one new place you’d like to visit?

Thats a hard question to answer. I'd love to travel all over the world. To visit lots of famous places and see awesome sights. I've always lived in the state I live in and I've even always lived in the same county. I left once to go to the state next door for about 5 days and thats it. It always amazes me when I see pictures or watch movies or even read descriptions in a book, how different places are compared to where I grew up. I'd love to go somplace else. To see and learn about different cultures, hear different accents and lauguages, taste different food, even experience different weather. It doesn't get cold enough here to snow. Someone once told me we only have two seasons here summer and winter. We barely even get winter, like I said it doesn't get cold enough to snow. My mom complains sometimes about how the leaves here don't change colors in the fall. I'd even like to see that. All the leaves here are either green or brown and thats it.

Writer's Block: Internet addictions

Besides LJ, what websites are you always surfing?
I've got a couple of go-to sites as well as a bunch of others I visit on a regular basis.   I'm a shameless Dragon Cave addict and I regularly peruse Deviant Art even though I'm not exactly artistically inclined (it's more of a place to store my favs).  Steepster feeds my tea cravings (hey, there are worse vices).  I used to spend quite a lot of time on the Dark Fort RPG website, but now that I've quit I'm finding that I'm not missing it as much as I thought I would - a sign I made the right choice perhaps?

I also tend to check Yahoo.ca fairly often just to catch up with the world news and movie reviews and stuff like that - plus they've got neat games.  I've found that Amazon.com is a good place to get reviews of books I'm interested in (sorry Chapters - at least I'm not buying from them).  AllRecipes.com has a shit-ton of great recipes and lets you save the ones you like in a 'recipe box'.  It's really helped to inspire my new-found interest in cooking.  Why, God, Why? is the current incarnation of Godawful Fanfiction and it's always good for a laugh (or a cringe).

There's a bunch of other ones I could name, but these are the main ones I guess.

Writer's Block: Between a rock and a hard place

Very simple equation:  pit S = ( c + f1 )*f2

Mean amount of horribleness ( x ) per individual creature ( c ) is 1.  For each leg ( f1 )  add 2 x. For each eye ( f2 ) multiply with 100 x.

If two pits ( pit S ) are given, with 100 individual creatures each ( pit Sn and pit Sp ), and we average the number of f2 per c in pit Sp as 8, the equations are as follows:

pit Sn = ( 1+ 0 )*200  -->  pit Sn = 1*200 --> pit Sn = 200

pit Sp = ( 1 + 8 )*800 --> pit Sp = 9*800 --> pit Sp = 7200

Therefore, a pit of spiders is 36 times more horrible than a pit of snakes.

Simple.

What are you skeptical about? (religion, ghosts, Toddlers and Tiaras, etc.)

Oh! Well I suppose I should talk about this sooner or later, here's a good opportunity!

What am I skeptical about? Ghosts.

WHAT, I hear you all saying in my head. SURELY NOT.

(Y'all sound like Eddie Izzard in my head. Yup.)

Anyways, I am not skeptical of what one might call paranormal activity, or paranormal entities, or what I just usually refer to collectively as 'spooks'. What I highly doubt the existence of is the longstanding traditional ghost - the human spirit that wanders with intention. As TAPS might say, an intelligent haunting.

The reason I rarely, if ever, bring this up is because most of this is based on my experiences and knowledge working for Anubis, and I'm still pretty convinced people are snickering behind my back if I bring that up; but there it is. Frankly, I have seen human spirits after death. I have never seen a one that was capable of any such haunting.

I'm not saying it's impossible. But it would have to be very rare. And I expect it would be more likely to be a result of peaceful death than the violent, tragic deaths people always attribute to such hauntings. There would also be some sort of transformation necessary, which I'm sure can happen, but I've never had the rank to witness or grant, due to being a flake.

I'm also not saying you can't be visited by a loved one after death. But that's not a haunting. Escort and assistance is required for those sorts of visits.

And finally, I'm not saying there's NOTHING THERE. When you encounter something that seems to be an intelligent haunting - answers questions, interacts with you - surely there is something there. I think most likely it is either something small that has adopted such a story as its history; or something constructed out of the energy the world is steeped in by the force of people's belief in the legend.

The standard human soul is not constructed to easily exist outside of the body; that's what makes it human. And souls are not left just wandering after death. Not one person dies alone.

So yes, that's where I stand on it. Maybe makes things more clear as to why I am quicker to explain things as faeries rather than ghosts? Besides my obvious obsession 6 u 9

I still need a Mr. Crocker icon.

P.S. I also apologize if this entry comes off at all preachy? I know it might sound like I'm asserting, essentially, my beliefs as fact, but frankly every major religion that I know of has its version of psychopomps. If you're an athiest you're probably already used to religious people acting like they know everything anyway 6 u 9
