When was the last time you cried?

i cried about an hour or two ago, but it was very short. not a full blown cry either. i can't remember why i was crying. i cry a lot.
the last time i actually cried cried, not just got teary eye'd, was two nights ago. that was because i was sick of seeing all the
people i know in "real life" kind of pissing away all of the things they COULD be happy about. i dont cry as much as i used to
though. i used to cry like every other day. really. if you're reading this from the writers block thingy, you dont know me, so, just
know i've head issues, depression and crap. blah... i've got to write a real entry... i'm tired but CANT sleep... need something to type
about.

I was never perfect and neither was he, but together I knew we would be. I angered at every moment I felt separated or detached from him. I cant contain my heart from bleeding with such fury. I want answers, I need truth. Silence is crowding the answers to all of my interrogating questions. The room is getting too dim for me to stand anymore so I know I have to find the light switch alone......

When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday. Over my dad again. I really hate this time of year. It used to be one of my absolute favourites with Thanksgiving and Christmas and we'd always spend it together. Now ever since he died two years ago, it's been the worst time of the year and I always seem to end up spending it by myself, no matter how much I try spending it with someone.

Writer's Block: Hand me a tissue, please.

The last time I cried was when my last stick of cigarette dropped into a drain when i was penniless. Which means, i can't but a stick for 50 cents from strangers. It was melodramatic. I squat over the drain as I watch my cigarette get soak in water or whatever liquid in there. I was wishing for a time machine badly so i could go back to two minutes before and make sure i don't try any weird tricks to get the cigarette out of my pack. I was devastated. Sad. Irritated. Annoyed and whatever you're feeling when you have a brother who is pathetic. Tears of remorse rolled down my cheeks. I cried.

But then, a few weeks later, i cried. Again. For reasons that I'm not aware of. I'm just a cry baby.

Well, Fuck you. how am i suppose to know when is the last time i cried? I thought the day when i dropped my cigarette would be the last time i cried. But no, i cried again after that. The only way for me to answer "When is the last time you cried?" question accurately is when i'm lying on my death bed.

Fuck you very nice.

I can hear his voice through the wall and it makes me remember that this guy doesn't want me but that 8 years older Chinese girl and he's not ashamed to talk about it with me as if I was some of his buddies.
Yesterday, I was soothing him when he was drunk and almost crying because of her and he didn't even noticed that I was crying too. And even so I still like him and even if he's a bastard sometimes I want to be with him.
But he doesn't even notice me...

Writer's Block: Hand me a tissue, please.

Just now. About an hour ago. Over a guy.

I just got really emotional and suddenly the thought of that guy rushed into my mind..and I cried. Well, it does happen everytime I think of him. I've been let down so many times before, but I've never cried this much...maybe I loved him so much.

Sometimes I do wonder why did all this happen to me, why did I met him if things weren't meant to be...but up until now, I still don't know the answer to it.

I'm still trying to move on and accept the fact that it's all over...I hope I'll recover soon.

When was the last time you cried?

Writer's Block: Hand me a tissue, please.

It really depends on your definition of crying. Sorry to complicate matters but I get a lump in the throat and shed tears at adverts for
famine charities as well as stories of courage, adversity and personal life journeys. The UK is currently screening episodes of 'The Biggest Loser' (Australia)  and no country, not even the US or the UK, do 'The Biggest Loser' like Oz do it! Their focus on the mental and emotional side of training and development can really bring out some heartrending stories and so for instance, I shed tears last night whilst watching an episode I'd recorded last weekend.

But to openly cry - uncontrollably - is a little different and perhaps the last time I did this was back in January following the death of my Dad. The Reverend came to visit the family - Mum, me and my brothers - to discuss funeral arrangements (music, eulogy, etc) and then she just said a few prayers for us at the end. I just dissolved into a pool of tears.

And yet I still haven't grieved properly, as that was the one and only time I cried properly for my Dad since he died and for one who wears his heart on his sleeve (far) too much, I know there is unfinished business.

Who are your heroes?

My friend, ginmar. She served with distinction for many years in the Army Reserves. She was deployed to Iraq during the height of the war and was there for over a year. With her she took her optimism for mankind and a sincere desire to help. She organized care packages for those in her unit. She bought items from local vendors to try to put money where it was needed—in the hands of the Iraqi people. She waved from trucks and did whatever she could to put locals at ease.

She went on armed convoys and patrols, at one point, surviving over 24 hours with her unit as they were pinned down by snipers and an extremely hostile group of insurgents. (They say women don't see combat. They lie. Ask any female veteran who has served in a war zone.) She finished out her tour and came home, going back to work and her life. Until, about 6 months home, the crippling effects of PTSD and injuries incurred during her tour brought her crashing down. (Typically, it takes anywhere from 4-8 months for PTSD to manifest. When it does, it hits you like a speeding train.)

She now fights an indifferent VA to get the care and benefits she's earned. Her condition has degenerated into agoraphobia, to the point where the Army had to discharge her, honorably. She fights, every day, for the kind of things we all take for granted. Going to the post office. Taking a walk. Working in the yard. Her struggles with the VA to get proper care would have broken most people.

She's been used by people she's trusted, simply because she always looks for the best in people. She still trusts, she still tries, she still works hard. I'm not sure I would have had the wherewithal to survive what she has and still have the positive outlook she has. For her service, for her faith in humanity, for her stubborn refusal to give in to her ailments, ginmar is my hero.

She's probably going to kick my ass for posting this but she can go ahead.

Who are your heroes?

Hmm, alot of heroes. Conrad Murray for killing a very dangerous pedophile. Charles Manson for killing the celebrities. (We need more dead celebrities.) Ed Powers, (more dirty debutantes) Peter North, the person who fought to make prostitution legal in Nevada, the people who made XXX porn, the soldiers who killed the savior of the christians, Andrew Dice Clay, Rodney Dangerfield, the people who like me, and promote me, Madalyn Murray O'Hair, sex worker activists, people who stand up for the rights of Atheists, porn stars, and the people who embrace me as I am. Hey, let's see how honest you are in naming your heroes

Writer's Block: Thank you veterans

my parents, my little siblings, most of my friends, medical personnel, some of my coaches: Janet Champion, Lorie, Sue, etc...

I appreciate the concept of honoring veterans and military personnel. Unfortunately, it is in-genuine, because I don't actually think anything good comes from any of their involvements. Either the reasons someone joins the military are unequivocally a) morally wrong to me, or b) the wrong reason to do something. What I mean is, since I don't support the concept of military power, etc, there is no good reason to join them. If you join them "despite" not liking those things, you shouldn't be there.

I do, however, recognize the great sacrifices they make and support that they mean well.

The veteran I would most like to thank is my grandfather, Andrew Sobien, who served in the Marines just prior to World War 2, and continued to work as a civilian contractor through the war. I'm not entirely sure what he did, but I know that he was stationed at Los Alamos while they built the atomic bombs, and I heard that there were a lot of high brass at his funeral - two or three Generals. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to go to his funeral.

While he has made mistakes in his life, I'll always remember him as one of the few in my family that stood up for and defended me.

Writer's Block: Hand me a tissue, please.

In Cebu. I broke down because I was getting depressed that I acquired Pneumonia there and didn't get to climb. I didn't think I deserved to get sick because I fixed my life right before going. I also felt really bad because I wanted to blame Carlo for everything. I had been so stressed with him the entire month, and despite getting to fix things with him right before going, it all still boiled down to Pneumonia. Other than that, I got extremely homesick. I wanted to go home so badly or go back to Cantabaco. Not that I wasn't grateful for the Ramases taking care of me, I am. It's just that I didn't expect to spend most of my Cebu trip at their place. It was a 9-day trip. Only spent 4 days in Cantabaco, and only got to climb for 1 day. I didn't even get to do Sadako, the project I've been eyeing on since my last time there last year. I felt really alone. I cried in the bathroom.

More on my October stress in my next entry.

What do you like to collect?

Bodies...

Oh wait...

Postcards. I love postcards. I have hundreds of them. Some have actually been sent to me, others I've bought on my travels and put in a scrapbook. For my birthday this year my parents gave me an album filled with postcards (some which were older than me). Dad had scanned the picture side and printed it out on photo paper so each page of the album showed the picture and the writing on the back. It is one of the best presents I've received and it would have cost them virtually nothing.

Writer's Block: Thank you veterans

Who are your heroes?
My heroes are those who dare to stand against war and violence as a positive solution to anything. Those that go off to fight and expect to be praised and supported for it are no heroes of mine.

When I was growing up the warriors who fought claimed they were fighting because they didn't want their children to have to fight. They were supposed to be building a peaceful world for the future. But I see now they were only building a world where war was viewed as normal, even popular. They built a world will no one will ever be able to feel secure again, and there is nothing but shame in the results of their actions. They didn't save us. They cursed us.

Sadly, those who were my heroes in youth, those who dared to stand up in the face of war and sing of the wrongness of it all, they are nowhere to be seen in this day and age. Or they have changed their tune and come out in support of war, as well as the corporate forces that strangle the freedom and potential we once enjoyed in America. This makes heroes very hard to come by these days.

Truly, I've long stopped looking for heroes. They just disappoint you in the end when the truth eventually comes out. Generally I have no heroes, but I give props to Stevie Wonder who still sings songs of peace and love, and to John Fogarty for daring to put out an anti-war song during the years of the Bush administrations. Neil Young I brand as a traitor and exile from my collection for writing the first pro-war song of those lost years.

It takes more than throwing your life away in questionable wars to be a hero of mine. I might pity you for the waste of your lives and all that you might have accomplished if the dream of a peaceful world for your time had been honored, but I by no means thank you for it. I'll save my praise for those who stay home and give they're all in the face of ridicule for daring to challenge those false ideas that are the real threat to America’s survival.
