This for me is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen...
For me this moment goes beyond two gorgeous men sharing a passionate kiss: This was the moment I fell in love with Jack & Ianto. Children of Earth was the first Torchwood series I ever watched and I was initially drawn to it because of John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, but it was this moment when it all really clicked for me. This wasn't just a fun sci-fi adventure with a dashing hero, it was also a love story (that ended all too soon). I'm always a sucker for star-crossed lovers, but this was the first time I'd really taken to a same-sex romance. I'd always supported gay rights, and never minded the sight of same sex couples kissing, but this scene was the first time I got a tingle from watching two hot guys kissing. It wasn't just a physical reaction, though. My heart actually skipped a beat. The moment is pretty intense: Jack, who has a bomb ticking away in his stomach, kisses Ianto goodbye before he sends him up on the invisible lift to safety. Both men have no idea is they'll ever see each other again, and your heart just aches for them. Every time I watch this I get swept up in the emotion of it all and it's due in no small part to the performances of John Barrowman and Gareth David-Lloyd. Not only was this the moment I fell for Jack & Ianto, it was the moment I realized that true love is beautiful, no matter the orientation.
Now all my debts are in collections (and one will garnish me once I start getting paid). I plan to pay them all off....eventually.
What's the most important thing to me, a person, animal or anything? For me that's easy, it would be my best friend Sunnie. For one, she's always been there for me through both thick and thin. I know I can also go to her with any problem and she'll sit and listen, then talk it through with me. If she wasn't my roommate I know I would be able to call her whenever and she'd understand. I won't go as far as to say that she wouldn't get mad, because she would especially if it was late and she had to work the next day, but she would understand...I hope.
I don't know where I'd even be if it wasn't for her, she has inspired a couple of my fics too. I guess you could call her my motivator of sorts. All in all, she is the most important thing in my life. ^^
~사랑해 자기!~ I hope you know how much you mean to me!
Of my five senses I would definitely choose smell. I wouldn't be able to go far without my sight, for one I'm extremely clumsy even with my sight, which would probably make me even more accident prone. The sense of sound I wouldn't give up for anything in the world. I can't live without music, heck I can't live without Super Junior, and I spend most of my time listening to my ipod, I swear you cannot find me without any kind of music at any given time, I keep my ipod on me at all times, and I almost always have an earphone in my ear. The sense of touch wouldn't be all that hard to live without, but I do like soft thingy, and if I didn't have that sense, I'd probably go nuts, not being able to feel anything. The sense of taste is something I cannot live without, I live for sweet things. I love ice cream even though I can't eat much for being lactose intolerant, but still.
Losing my sense of smell wouldn't be as bad as the others, considering I wouldn't have to smell any of the really bad smelling things, like sewage or anything rotting. Heck what I wouldn't give to be able to walk down the street and not have some ghastly stink waft through my nose. It gets worse in some parts of town then others. I don't know what I would do with out the ability to smell anything nice, like really nice perfume, the smell of just baked cookies or bread. I love the smell of freshly baked bread. Or the smell of coffee, I love that smell too, you know the nice smell you get when you walk into a Tim Horton's or Starbucks? Heck I don't even know if I could live without being able to smell the air right after it rains. I love that, I spend hours outside when its raining and when it stops. I guess I don't think I'm willing to give up any of my senses, but I think the sense of smell would be the easiest one to live without.
I was sitting down trying to think of this a while ago and it's hard to break down. I have a credit card with about $1500 on it, another with about $500, $2,500 in student loans, then I have 2k at one hospital and another $2,500 at another. I probably have another $500 in various hospital bills. I probably have close to 10k in debt if not a little more. It's pretty sad, but I have been in a lot of car accidents and had a lot of injuries. I haven't actually used a credit card in about five years and the student loan was taken out only 3 or 4 years ago. I also owe $3,500 in taxes. So yeah, more like $14k in debt. It's pretty fucking sad. I just don't know how to get rid of it. I barely make enough money to pay my bills.
I am forever a fan of Siouxsie and The Banshees. They were the best underground band spanning from 1976 to 1996. Siouxsie currently has a solo career. She and the drummer, Budgie also had a band called The Creatures, which I tried to like but just didn't really. It was my brother who introduced me to S& TB's music when I was 16 or 17. I also liked The Cure. Luckily, I can attest to seeing both bands in concert - The Cure in Los Angeles and S& TB in The Netherlands.
It is said that interest in music is heightened during the teenage years, and the favorite music from then will continue as such for the rest of one's life. I am unsure if I entirely agree. Certainly, I still enjoy listening to Siouxsie and The Banshees and other alternative bands, but lately I do prefer some fine opera and classical music. Yet, S& TB will always reign as my favorite band of all time! :)

Oh, about $3500+ or so because of a student loan that I had to get due to applying for a semester way late, and being too poor to pay out of pocket. THANKS for that, corporations that have been outsourcing the tech industry to Asia and otherwhere. Jerks. =P

Well, I'm not financially independent and doubt I will be anytime soon so.... yeah... about to be 21 and never had a job, earned any money, or owned anything with material worth...
SO does that mean I should talk about my family's debt as a general standard?
Lets put it this way... my dad barely graduated high school, he is a small business owner in that he and two other guys are handymen and it's under his name. My mother COULD have gone to college to chose to get married and get a job. She had a decent job, but since she didn't have a college degree, 18 years in the same job only brought her pay up to about $15 an hour before she quit to be a stay at home mom since my dad could make more fixing houses than she could working a full time salary job.
They STARTED LIFE by spending any money they got, had me and bought me assloads of shit all the time without thinking 'huh one day we might need this money'. THEN they had twins, cut down to one income, bought a brand new $40,000 vehicle, AND took a leap on a new business venture that requied a $20,000 startup loan.... Business flopped, vehicle got reposessed, eventually went bankrupt (I think, I was about 13 so I don't remember). After that, piled on top of OLD debt from before I was born, and after one more child, there was no coming back.
At this point, they can pay their bills, but just barely. My mother and I both have attempted to get jobs, but neither of us could make enough money to cover the cost of traveling to and from work since we could only get part-time jobs (minimum wage for me) and we would spend about $30 a day traveling to town and home. ALSO, we would have to buy a third vehicle so that somebody can take the children to and from and run errands and stuff, which isn't possible because their shitty credit means no financing.
.... so BASICALLY, I'm a blank slate, but my family is going to be in debt until my parents die. I mean, my dad works 10 hours a day AT LEAST, if not more, 7 days a week (seriously, his taking off all of Thanksgiving is a first this year.) and he MAKES plenty of money but they pay it all out with just enough to buy food and gas.
And people wonder why I am a cheap ass, lmao! I WILL NOT screw myself into the ground like my parents did early in life, hell no.
With my parents and sister: Eat a good meal with lots of wine. Or some of the more nerdy stuff we've done, like wait in line 3 hours to see the Ashes And Snow art exhibit in Santa Monica.
With my dad's family: Del Mar. After-dinner jacuzzi, pancakes in the morning, grandpa grilling steaks, farmer's market for snacks and fresh flowers, browsing the boutiques, early morning walks on the beach, early morning jacuzzi, bird watching, whale watching, surfer watching, gin and tonics, pistachios.
With my mom's family: Any old family gathering, with all the kids and aunts. Big holidays (Christmas/Easter) we have cupcake decorating contests. But whatever we do there is lots of food, lots of kids, lots of soccer, football, and lounging. Every room is full, every belly is full. The aunts are silly, the kids are adorable, and the older cousins catch up and love each other dearly. We always hold hands in a giant circle to pray before a meal, and sometimes in place of a prayer (or after one) we'll sing a hymn. Only the aunts and grandpa know all the words (grandma used to know them better than anybody), but the older cousins fumble along and the little ones watch their history unfolding before their eyes. Also, I love how with my mom's family, friends are family too. I remember the time my grandma made an Easter egg for each grandchild, and she made one for my cousins' neighbor too just in case they happened to bring her along.
And with my new family, Jared: just about anything =)
A lot, but I'm guessing that response isn't enough, so let me see if I can break it down better.
|Credit Cards (2)||~$950|
|Medical/therapy bills not covered by Medicaid/Medicare or that were not filed properly by staff at medical offices||~$400|
|A line of credit accidentally taken out in my name by my mom & then used to buy crap;slowly being paid off by her||$400|
|Past due cell phone bill||$94|
|Fines owed to city||~$350|
So about or over $22,000.
Of course, I paid about $4,000 off of my loan debt at one point because it was wrongly rebated AFTER it was used. This is all assuming I haven't forgotten anything. I'm not counting the five cents that I owe DreamHost still.
All sorts of things. We're a very loving, close-knit family. One of my favorite activities is taking all my grandbabies to the mall and letting them roam free and wild and pick whatever they want so that I can buy it for them and spoil them rotten. Then they go home and drive their parents nuts. Revenge for when their parents drove ME nuts. MUAHAHAHA!
My favorite is Lucy though. Lucy loves her grandpa very much and treats him nicely. Unlike Bunny and ZoZo and Marshandra. Who are not going in Grandpa's will.
We should do more things as a family. I wonder where Catbus got off too. She promised me icecream.
There are times when it's necessary for me to be in the same room with family members. At these moments, we engage in accusatory stares and profane gestures. It's honest, and it works for us.
I love just hanging with my dad, we're always been really close especially since when were growing up my Mom was always working no less than three jobs at a time, and all of them full time (don't ask I don't even try to figure her out), she has evened out though, she's only got two now. Me and DTH roughhouse like brothers, even though I'm a girl, we're so competitive, but that's when we bond best, when we're seeing who can shoot the best bull's-eye or who can win in a race or something. Me and my mom don't really spend time together much since she's usually working and when she comes home she's really tired. Sometimes she teaches me to fold things like egg-rolls, dumplings, and wantons (I have to learn all three or get married--which ever comes first--before I can learn the ingredients or how to cook them.).

Not done anything with my flesh and blood family for years. Some of us are the black sheep, for no fault we just don't fit with their narrow definition of what life should be, so are generally excluded from family events. Not that it bothers me, as I have good friends and we do things together.
