Being done with my divorce.
Also losing more weight. I've already dropped 20-some pounds, and the jeans I bought last Christmas really are way too big for me now. So, new jeans to go with that I guess.
... Um... hugs too? I don't know what else, I guess I'm not really feeling material this year.
I'd love a pair of headphones that fit and had sound quality. Small head, so can't wear over the head, they don't shrink enough for a kid's sized head. Kid's head phones are based on the idea that kids are too stupid to control their own volume. Can't wear earbuds, they won't stay in. Over the ear phones now have the cord hanging from the back strap so I can't get them on my ears easily, and each move of my head pulls them off.
iPhone 4S or iPad 2. Dreaming much?
But I'll just be happy with a better 2012. A year without quakes, a year without being on the dole, a year where I actually achieve something and do something. A year where I'm actually happy and feel like life is worth all the fighting.
A song that comes to mind is Pasko Na Sinta Ko, a very sad Filipino Christmas love song. It's ironic how I love that song very much considering the time should be for celebrations and what-not. It remains at the top of my list up til now. Maybe it's because I'm just a total sap at heart.
Lyric translations here.
I don't want really much this Christmas, i got what i wanted before or decided to buy something myself for my last money...
But still there are some little things thst would make me totally happy. So my holiday wishlist that doesn't contain person i'm thinking about now undeer the christmas tree... should contain new slippers but actually my mum bought me bunny ones before i put them on my list.
. I also ordered Wacom Bamboo Pen and spend my last money on it but i really wanted it and was afraid i won't be able to buy it if i don't decide now. Now i'm totally poor OTL.
Ok, so now here we go, real serious answer is - things that remind me about my childhood times but i could use them also in my 'adult' live now as well.
Kinder Surprise, this one brings memories, really lovely ones. I always want to buy it but i never do. I love discovering what's inside and i totally love taste of this chocolate, it's so yummy~~!
I also thouht today i need a pencil case becuse i have total mess on my desk and in my bag without it. And it somehow makes me think of school times somehow. I've found picture of really cute pencil case i might be wanting.
And i saw these randomly now while i was searching for nice pencilcase on Amazon. Best friends sweeet cats ;-; I want them badly now!
So that was my wishlist xD
My holiday movie is Enchanted.
A funny tradition was born in 2007. My friend and I were out of town for something business related and had the day off for Christmas. The area we were in was a bit po-dunk and we had no family there so went to the movies and watched Enchanted.
Then the next year, my friend who was also my neighbor was given Enchanted as a Christmas present and thought it was completely silly that she was being made to watch this but the guy (note guy and he's definitely a manly man) said it was fab and I seconded this, so she watched it with me.
Then in 2009, for the Christmas exchange in my office, I told someone that I'd happened to watch Enchanted for two Christmases running. This dude ended up being my Secret Santa and got me the DVD!
So now I can't go a Christmas without watching the movie. And even though it doesn't remotely relate to Christmas and is completely cheesy and filled with Disney clichés, I can't help but love it! ♥
oh...man...to be honest. i have don't want anything i need this year cause i feel satisfied with what i need in life. But if it is things i want in life.. then i have a lot of stuff i would like for Christmas but highly doubt i would ever get..unless i get a job (which is what i want/need)then i would buy all of these stuff :]
- Job (an on campus job would be nice. But i need to start applying.. :[ need to stop being lazy)

-friends at Irvine
-Nike-free running shoes

On a side note, i recently got food poisoning so i am currently recovering.. LOL ah..i will be more careful of what i eat next time. >>;;

For the past few years, I've never really had anything particular in mind. Whenever the holidays come and I'm asked this question, it's usually only one or two things that I wanted and they can never be wrapped, no matter how hard one tries. World Peace. Health. Prosperity. Love. Togetherness.
Though it's wonderful and ideal for people to wish those, it brings grief to the person who would like to give me something for Christmas. So to spare them (though I highly doubt that they can give me this one) I have laid my eyes on something concrete.
A Starbucks planner. For years, I have just looked at it on store shelves, and then at the sheer number of stubs/stickers on a booklet you need to fill to get it. It was the practical me frowning and saying to myself I didn't need it.
I still don't think I need it, but I think I deserve to splurge every once in a while. For the past few years, this is the first time I've yearned for something I can actually touch.
It's the first material thing on my wish list. I'm still working on it. :D
A pair of heavy-duty Chaos fire fans. Trick Concepts sells them. The "heavy-duty" is important, since that's what I'd need to do serious business technical fan spinning. I already own a pair of fire fans that are definitely more in the "dancing prop" category, and I'm just not satisfied with that any longer.
I have a lot of other stuff I'd like, mostly small stuff, but back to big-ticket things: I really fancy a pair of fire snakes. Not the skinny ones, either... if you're going to have blades of fire whipping about your person, you might as well make them at least somewhat formidable.
Top of my list is an easy transition from this year to the next, which includes Myk getting a job that he will love, finding a home in that location [LA most likely...] that is nice as well as affordable, job and education opportunities for me [veterinary field], and an easy move there with Onyx and all our stuff.
On the greedy side, I'd love... oh a new wardrobe, a new car, a new laptop, an X-Box. Though none of those are things I *need*.
Sadly, none of the things I want are little, but I'm grateful for the things I have.
That's right, I NEVER STOP THINKING ABOUT BOOKS. Christmas is just when I think about specific books that may cost more than $4. (I actually just dropped $17 (!!) on a book for my dad, although to my eternal frustration it's not even for a shiny new edition -- that's just how freaking hard it was to find a hardcover American copy of one of Betty Macdonald's other memoirs in decent shape.)
P.S. LJ, you know I don't like when you coerce me into annoying people with posts irrelevant to TV. I found a way around this one, but why must you tempt me with these things? Now I have to annoy them (and myself) ALL. WEEK. LONG.
World peace is always on my list but right after that ... I want a very Happy Christmas with all my family. Not that that EVER happens, LOL, but I wish for it every year.
Just Kevin being able to finally get the type of job hes been searching for. I'm a feather, I can float where ever need be and adapt. But he.. Hes set on what he wants and I just want so bad for him to have that.
I want to feel as happy as I've been pretending to be lately.
And an Xbox 360 would be nice so I could finally play Skyrim. I doubt I'll get either though for Christmas, if anything at all. I'll probably get another pair of socks from my mom and that'll be it.
I like socks, but I really want to be happy and play xbox though. *sigh*
Anything from Sailor Moon (I've been trying to get a few collections, but they're expensive D= )
Money to buy a Nintendo 3DS (Since I've been saving up spare cash each week to hopefully afford one next year.)
I would like for once in my life have a peaceful Christmas, where there are no arguments or heated discussion, just family and people who I cherish and whom we share a special kind of respect with around. I just really want a day, it doesn't even have to be Christmas to feel like things are truly peaceful.
I wish you guys that too. ♥
Well, I'll show you if you like. I have this amazon list full of books, blu-rays, manga etc. Then I have this wishlist full of yarn, and this paypal wishlist which is full of extremely expensive things and I only made it because they have a competition where you can win everything on your list XD
PS I know I have skipped two days of my advent calender. I've been very busy these last two days writing an essay, but that is done now, hurrah. I will triple-post tomorrow :D
At this point, most of them. I celebrate Christmas with my mother, because it's her holiday. I celebrate Chanukah with my father's family, because it's a holiday about anti-assimilation and resistance and also I love latkes. Now I celebrate Yule because most of my friends are pagan.
My own holiday is Hogswatch. It means as much to me as any winter holiday does, in a completely different way. As fiction it encompasses the heart of belief.
General things that I want to happen... I want everything to work properly for a change. nothing to get cancelled, delayed or changed in any way. the same as I want for all the other events in my life, and for my life in general, I guess. I'm so relieved that the Botanical Gardens Christmas event went ahead as normal, and that I got over to York in time for the Festival of Angels. some snow would be nice now? but not weird snow that causes delays.
I want a lot of things. I already posted the two Wish Lists I made for actual people. I suppose the only one left to share is my own personal one, which I expect to get to start picking at a month or two after landing a decent-paying job.
1. 311: Unity CD (latest)
2. Eminem: latest CD
3. Green Day's newest, second to newest.
4. Over-the-ear headphones.
5. 311: second to latest CD
6. RHCP Stadium Arcanum and the newest and Californication.
7. Rihanna/Ne-Yo CDs.
8. Lincoln School skirt:
Style #1377H, cost $45.50. To buy, go directly to their store at 1950 Fall River Ave Seekonk, MA 02771, or call 1-800-462-8192. Ask for a catalogue, maybe? Their website is down.
9. An American Girl doll and ballet clothes and such. The basic doll I want is $100, $200 would set me up nicely with clothes and other accessories.
10. The dark opal belly ring from Rockstar Piercing.
11. The three Bratz Punkz that I don't have. The sparkle-eyed vintage My Little Ponies I don't have.
12. New PS2 games (Bully, second Indiana Jones, more Singstar, etc.)
13. A custom corset. Somewhere around $300 depending on corsetier and such. There's a decent one in Ohio who does local steampunk cons, I could theoretically get measured at one, fitted at a second, and then the final product mailed to me or something.
14. Sea Monkeys! Basic kit is $13 at Pow! Science.
15. I miss concerts. I should try harder to win tickets from various radio stations, that's gotta be easier if I'm willing to clog my FaceBook feed more.
There are a few Christmas movies that I HAVE to watch every year: Santa Claus The Movie, A Smoky Mountain Christmas, Ernest Saves Christmas, A Christmas Story, and The Santa Clause. It doesn't feel like Christmas until I watch those movies.
30 Seconds To Mars - Escape
Time to escape
The clutches of a name
No, this is not a game
It's just a new beginning
I don't believe in fate
But the bottom line,
It's time to pay
You know you've got it coming
This is war
I've been running... Faster than I've ever run, and I've been running my whole life. Now it's time for me to stop.
White Christmas with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen.
Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer.
Miracle on 34th Street with Natalie Wood as the adorable little girl and Maureen O'Hara plays her mom and Ed Gwynne plays Santa.
And It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.
If I had to choose one it would probably be Love, Actually because I do tend to watch it every year...and it's my favorite.
Also though...there's Elf and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I haven't seen it in a long while but I used to watch A Christmas Story every year with my family, so I feel that too deserves a mention.
