Anyway, since my sister believed and I didn't, I had to pretend every year that Santa existed. One year she was convinced that she heard reindeer on the roof, and I played along telling her I heard it too. I know, I'm a great sister XD
Pretty young. I'm sure I figured it out for myself. I don't recall anyone telling me, which I would have if it occurred after the age of 7 or 8. I did keep it secret for quite some time as I have a brother three years younger than me and a sister six years younger than me so I became a conspirator in the Santa Secret.
I must've been very nice as a big and heavy package from deviltrap is waiting to be opened tomorrow. And today, I got another little package. I have yet to find out from who it is. *g*
And I don't want to go all mushy on you, but I think I've been very nice when I got a flist like you! ♥
- The feeling of cool air swirling around you as you step outside your door in the early morning.
- The way people are so much more cheerful and in the holiday spirit.
- How kids are so excited and cant wipe the smile off their little faces.
- Everything just seems so magical and amazing.
- I love giving gifts during Christmas and having the New Year bring along so many surprises.

I don't know. Maybe before 6? I know I was really little. I don't quite remember ever really believing in him. My mom did tell me that I stopped believing when I was a little girl after I left cookies for Santa in the oven (because we didn't want insects to get on them or anything and for them to stay warm) and I came back later that night and saw my father eating the cookies. Then I stopped believing.
I think I also really stopped believing one time when we were really poor and me and my brother could only afford one toy. I bought some My Little Pony light up purple pony. It wasn't what I really wanted, but it was all my parents could afford that year and we had to buy it at Walgreen's. I believed that either my parents or Santa would buy me something better. But come Christmas day no new toys. Just the ones from Walgreen's. I was disappointed. I've never forgotten it.
I belive in
Chinese lunar Calendar,
and The Big Bang Theory Theme Song"
My mom was a professional palm reader/ astrologist. and it was 90% accurant.
Ok, I'm a dragon, currently seeing a tiger. He's sweet but annoying. Let me list the ways. Oy that would take too long. Hence dragons/ tiger do not a marriage make. He's too impulsive and reads too few books.
So Sorrry loser soon to be ex..
I'm honestly not sure. I couldn't have been any older than eight or nine, though. I remember I played along with the idea for a year or two because I had some vague idea that it would disappoint my parents if I stopped believing in Santa Claus. But it didn't take me too awfully long to figure out that Santa's hand writing looked an awful lot like my father's.
Fun fact: When I was little, my idea of Santa Claus was largely shaped by J.R.R. Tolkien's The Father Christmas Letters, which my parents checked out of the library and read to me every year for a few years. Sorry, guys, but in my childhood mythology, Clement Moore just couldn't hold a candle to Tolkien!
Gordon: Hey Mary, guess what? Santa doesn't exist!
Gordon: Mom and dad have all the presents in their room come see!
Gordon: SEE. Notice how it's mom's writing??
Me: But mom said santa has the same writing as her!
Gordon: *Cuts open a gift* Let's see what we got!!!
And that's how my brother stole christmas.
И не будет нигде проблем:)
Сегодня спросил бы так: Дедушка Мороз, твоя фамилия не Чуров?
The thing is that everyone told that my parents were Santa but I didn't believe them because I never caught them doing it. Back then, when I am sleep, I am a brick (pretty much out of it). So yeah, I never really get to "see Santa". My parents kept up with that tradition until I was 15 though (because I still never caught them bringing in the gifts). I am a light sleeper now.
She was five years older than me and was always mean to me when we were growing up because I usurped her position as the youngest. I in turn was mean to my younger brother when he usurped my position as youngest when I was five.
Very young. My mother didn't try to sugarcoat anything. Not until my little brother&sister came
along then she was all sweet a maternal and shit. That's why they are such winners!*sarcasm
I only give presents to children and candy (cos I don't give out booze) to adults...
Livejournal posts a "writer's block" topic each day, and this one asks "what do you love about the wintertime?" This is a great topic, as the first day of winter was a couple days ago.
I love that in winter, the air is cooler and it stays dark longer. I'm not a fan of hot, sunny days. Not a fan at all. It doesn't get really crazy cold down here until January or February, and even then it's not that cold, but it's nice all the same. It sure beats the hot, humid days we get from April through September.
I also love the excitement in the air with everyone preparing for the winter holidays. A lot of people around here go all out decorating their homes with Christmas lights, and I enjoy checking out the results. Some people go all Clark Griswold and put up thousands of lights. It gets pretty crazy. This year I put extra effort into decorating our house inside and outside, since it's our first year having Sierra here with us. Plus, she's turns 18 years old today, so it's our last real chance to do the Christmas decorations up big before she's all grown-up. We even have a "real" tree this year instead of our plastic tree.
Another thing I like about winter is that we eat yummy food and it's perfect weather for cocoa and tea and other hot beverages. I get to bake lots of cookies and pies and all sorts of things.
There are so many great reasons to like winter! I would say it's my favorite season of all.
Merry Christmas to everyone! Tonight is Santa's big night. Leave some cookies out for him, eh?
The snow and the cold. I hate being hot, because you're kind of stuck. Since Ken doesn't like the AC down where I like it. xP So when you're hot, all you can do is get nakey and you still sweat. So it doesn't do much.
While if you're cold, you can put on heavier clothes or get a blanket. You can do something about cold.
And snow is pretty, until it turns to brown mush because of exhaust. Yuck.
